Translation: they are guessing. Nothing in the article actually says he is siding with Musk. And his previous record on it as pointed out on this thread has been to deny almost a quarter of all H1B visas in 2019, which was more than he denied in 2018 and more than 2017. Over the 4 years he was president the denials only increased.

This, to me, shows that the point is really about skill and the use of H1Bs to just price out americans out of johs is not gonna fly.

I wanna take moment to address a troubling trend I've seen in the past few pages regarding the merits of Central and South American immigrants as opposed Indian immigrants. Let me be perfectly clear:

They both fucking suck, can fuck off, and quickly at that.

I don't subscribe to the idea that we need to bring anybody into this country to fill a hole. A free market will incentivize the brightest minds among us to enter those fields in need of workers, and the companies will need to compete with each other for the best talent with salary and benefits.

The idea of changing immigration policy to benefit a given economic sector is as socialistic and retarded as putting Venezuelans in hotels and handing them pre-loaded debit cards.

This isn't A or B. I will not cede the argument to one bad choice over another. The choice is the American people.

We don't need any immigrants. Period. There was a time where the US could handle them. But at this point, immigration is a trap for a color revolution. Immigration should be made very rare. It already is hard enough to come here legally. But we have so many internal issues that we shouldn't be allowing immigration until we fix them. Immigration today only exists to drive down wages and to have a lower, underclass of slave labor.

Let us assume it's true. For what is he using the H1B for? Construction? In New York? Lol, not gonna fly with Unions. Staffing? He could, but pretty sure the Dems would have used that against him by now. I'm trying to think where H1B's fit in for Trump- I don't see it.

You may be right. This will not happen under the current circumstances. What you suggest requires a act of congress. Those votes don't exist. Trump could close the border at his own peril. That would massively impact trade. And it would be undone the second a Democrat gets into office. What needs to happen is dramatically reworking the H1B in the short term. Congress controls the program, but Trump can decide who they go to. Send those Visas to Europe instead. This alone would solve many problems overnight. Not all, but many of them. Longer term plans could then be worked on.
