I ran into this minor scuffle on Xitter about Amazon and A24 having no respect for HH by only allotting them 8 episodes a pop. Now I kinda get the complaint, the show is clearly designed for much longer seasons but, and this is a big but, it is Vivienne's job to make the show good. No one elses. If you can't tell a coherent, well paced story in 8 episodes you don't deserve more.

I love how he went from a guy posting clips to acting like he's king of the fanbase. I lost respect for him when he opened his trap and revealed he can barely speak english.

An example of a good show with limited slots are Infinity Train.

Maybe, if we didn't have picture evidence in both Season 1 and 2 of Stella looking like a normal mother to Via. It's not like Stella was never in family photographs where all three members were smiling.

We don't really have enough evidence to prove this to be true because all we've gotten so far is a hug from episode 11, and Stella laughing like a cartoonish villain when Stolas attempts to call Octavia. We don't know how these two actually feel towards each other unless it's in relation to fucking StolASS.

Yes, because Stolas constantly thirsting over imp dick once Blitzø entered into his life shows how healthy his relationship with his daughter. For 2 seasons, Octavia never enters into Stolas' thoughts unless someone else reminds him about her. We don't ever see these two have interactions with one another. And whenever Stolas is alone, he is either thinking about Blitzø, wallowing in his lackluster love life, or reading erotica.

Yeah, they keep giving Stolas weird sexualized women’s clothing. The sleepy sweater with the stretched neckline, the “boob window” on his new outfit where his feathers puff out, etc. Sex nerds like Viv / Brandon who are into BDSM basically consider “sub” to be synonymous with “possessing the soul of a woman”. That’s why Blitz calls Stolas his “bottom” (in front of his kid), why Stolas’s cloaca or “bird puss” is mentioned, and why he’s wearing such effete clothing. It’s all just sexism, and it’s all very tiring.

Good point. Initially, I was going to run interference for Viv and say that Stolas doesn’t have a prescription, but rather buys over-the-counter anti-depressants courtesy of Belphegor. However, I think that excuse falls flat in lieu of Stolas’s name appearing on the bottles. Maybe I’m misremembering, but I’m pretty sure Stolas’s name is in the corner of the bottles Octavia finds in her closet.

With that said, I think Stolas was going to ask Blitz to get his medication for him, rather asking if Blitz already had similar drugs. I actually think this was a good character moment, because you can see how ashamed Stolas is to be leeching off Blitz, and how he doesn’t ask for everything he wants out of fear of being demanding. This is undercut by the whole “I eat roasted vole” line, but, you know.

I don’t think she hates him. I think she thinks her father was always miserable at home, that she was an unwanted burden, and that he would be happier without her. The dropping off of the pills was probably a chance for her to mouth off at Stolas, but she doesn’t hate her parents. She wouldn’t be so depressed if that was the case.

Also, I assumed that the mass of bottles she found in the closet were empty. People who take a lot of medication usually have “that drawer” full of empty pill bottles. She just wanted to give him the single bottle that was still full. She’s a good kid. Sucks her parents failed her in every conceivable way.

Blitz eating those fried beans and getting that face is never explained. Also selfish of him for not sharing.

I just assumed they were rocks and he was eating them because “fire toads” like hot stuff. He didn’t offer any to Stolas because he eats rodents.

There's a reason she's canonically asexual, heck it, just make her aroace at this point. It would actually make sense given what she had to witness through her very eyes.

So glad I’m not the only one who noticed that this is another example of Viv accidentally TERFing out. Like, she tries to shill for trannies, but then has a scene where Millie is excluded from a sporting event while her tranny brother goes on ahead. Now she has an “asexual” character, but all she’s doing is demonstrating how “asexuality” is nothing more than a psychological defence. Of course Octavia is going to be repulsed, scared, and disinterested in sex. She literally and unironically believes that it’s the source of her parents dysfunction. Yes, Viv, that is how “asexuality” works in the real world, but why the fuck are you (of all people) saying that?

Do we even know how far Octavia is in the line of succession? I recall Stolas mentioning to Stella that Octavia is basically a "backup" heir and there was Paimon being reminded of Stolas' name because he can't keep track of his kids. For all we know, she could be one of those royals who will never ascend the throne because they have an older relative who have children of their own.

I assumed that Paimon basically fathered, like, half of the Goetia, albeit for different roles and occupations. Like, Andy says that Stolas’s legions would “go to Via”, which implies that she is in the line of succession to inherit Stolas’s titles and job. Basically, different Solomonic demons have dominion over a certain subject. For Stolas (and possibly Via) the dominion is, “Astronomy, Poisonous plants, and Precious Stones”.

So, no. We know that Octavia has a something to inherit. Paimon’s multiple children were likely assigned different jobs or “dominions”, each with their own separate line of succession. Consider Vassago, for example, regardless of whether or not he’s Stolas’s half-brother through Paimon, his domain is “inciting the love of women and revealing hidden treasures”. His kids (if he has any) would inherit that title and dominion if he died, but Octavia could not inherit that dominion even if Stolas died. She would inherit Stolas’s dominion and his legions.

These are some of the photographs from the episode right? First one kind of reads Stella being like "look at these goofy goobers I have to deal with", but I don't see any ill will from her. Second one, you can definitely see her at least trying to show that Stolas and her are a happily married couple, while Stolas is more wary. This kind of proves my theory of (at least at one point in the marriage) Stella having romantic feelings towards Stolas and he couldn't return them because he's a homosexual. This can explain why Stella grew to be so bitter towards him. And the last picture is really just showing that Octavia was probably the best thing that came out of this arranged marriage for the both of them because everyone seems genuinely happy here.

Now, one thing to take note is that Stella never touches Octavia in these pictures, but this could just be because of Stolas' and Stella's vastly different upbringings. We already know Stolas' dad was barely in his life, so he probably wasn't taught much on how royalty is supposed to behave and present themselves. We can't really confirm with Stella's upbringing, but we can assume she was taught to always look her best and appear regal to the public. This can also explain why we see Stolas dressed in a bathrobe in the privacy of his home, but Stella is always dressed in her usual royal clothing no matter where she is.

Its been pretty interesting to watch and see how the discussion shifts about Octavia over the last week, all things considered; I still can't help but feel bad for her, its a real shitty situation. In a way, its kind of hilarious how Viv tries to be all "inclusive" and all that, but it backfires when it becomes unintentionally based; it sort of feels like an accurate deception of homosexual dad leaving family for his boyfriend and ruining the life he had because he's a fag. I already know it won't last in season 3 because knowing Viv, the master of character assassination and ruining any interesting potential the show might have had; will have her magically forgive her father because "mah stolitz ship". It does have me a little curious through, where things would even go from here; I do recall reading a few pages back how season 3 is no where near even close so I'd assume Hazbin season 2 is probably the next thing in line, besides any shorts that might be released between now and then. The fact this shit is supposed to run for 2 more seasons, I can't even wrap my head around it. I really feel like after this episode, I'm kinda checked out; I only really follow this thread because I like the folks here (this is like the only thread ive consistently posted in and prob my favorite thread on the site) and I like to keep up with all the stuff happening around this trainwreck.

Ya know, on the whole "Adam hates Abel" thing, like we know the reason for that is because Abel is gay. But, like you could make this work (not the gay part, but Adam hating Abel), why not instead frame it how Abel actually forgave Cain for his deed and holds no ill towards his brother. That could in response anger Adam, because Abel has not only forgiven a sin grave as murder, but also show that Adam still cannot let go of the pain he experienced the first time of losing Abel. Maybe also how with time it warped his views so hard and hence why he has such a burning hatred for sinners and even Lucifer.

I’ve been watching both shows for the visual aesthetic appeal, as someone who grew up in a social circle of web artist personalities and was heavily exposed to plenty of unhinged over-the-top cartoons. It’s obvious in Vivziepop’s works that she went through the same experience while growing up. Those slender character designs are possibly the largest guilty pleasure of mine and I usually can’t help myself but to fall for their artistic appearance, regardless of their personality characteristics and how terribly written they are. Heck, I used to like Stolas’s design so much when season one was already going that I used to have him on my wallpaper for sometime (it was a cool artwork, so shut up).

I was pressured into watching the first few HB episodes, I thought the concept was interesting but I could already tell they were dropping the ball. The humor wasn't for me, either. Word of mouth by friends and others I knew at the time, it seemed like an interesting premise back then. I remember all the hype surrounding the pilot and subsequent episodes releasing for season 1, when the show actually stuck to its premise I thought it was interesting to watch, but also the characters; Striker and Stella stand out as my favorites, Stolas wasn't insufferable like he is in season 2. I still think the show peaked at Harvest Moon and Truth Seekers, after season 2 came out, and that was when it tuned to shit. Hazbin, I don't really care too much about. I did like seeing more of the world and more of the other characters, overlords and all that but. Season 1 came and went, and was rushed as fuck. Adam was the standout for me and of course they kill him off. I don't think I'd even bother with season 2, just because theres no reason to watch it since the only interesting character was killed off.
