Ex-Pixar Staffers Decry ‘Win or Lose’ Trans Storyline Being Scrapped: “Can’t Tell You How Much I Cried”

cry harder, lol.

I'm not even posting this to show how Disney's dialing everything they "championed" back so they have their almighty dollar, I'm looking at this more because this sounds like an unbelievably shit premise. Isn't this just Avatar only with a beaver instead of giant blue cat people? Who the fuck wants to see that? At least Avatar, as in one ear out the other plots they are, had interesting visuals at times and James Cameron trying to do new things like his underwater motion capture or whatever, this will probably be the same Pixar slop that all their movies looked like for the past decade plus.

I'm surprised the Disney troons haven't given Iger a struggle session yet like they did with Chapek.

Anyway, call me when they fire all the loonies running Lucasfilm, then I'll be convinced they're actually changing.

I'll be surprised that they made a movie about a girl and her beaver that guys won't watch.

there were tons of articles on it and basically Chapek couldn't read between the lines and didn't realize what Disney "really" is about, Iger got the go ahead to stab him in the back and openly rallied behind the scenes when Chapek tried to stay out of the gay issues in florida.

the most powerful people on the board of disney are fags and dykes IIRC, and Chapek failed the secret test so he got the boot very quickly. Iger now gets to stay on until at least 2027.

Iger probably knew and thats why he basically semi-retired once covid was spreading through china in 2019 and only came back to full power once california let parks reopen at full capacity, meanwhile all the shitty films like strange world that got greenlit by Iger magically became Chapek's fault.

Its rather telling too how gay marriage went from the big debate in the country to even most people here not caring about dykes outside of adoption issues which only happens less than a thousand times a year. meaning even with the pendulum swinging back, its only back to fucking 2015. in terms of LGBT stuff i think even most queers are ok with that. the fact that people on the right are praising disney for only allowing their products to be as pozzed as they were in 2015 is sad.

like they won't show trannies in their kid stuff now but doing gay coded or openly gay characters in films and tv shows is here to stay i guess.

The people who said that Wall-E wouldn't ever be made these days are looking more correct.

Its funny Disney believes that having relevant themes or commentary is causing their movies to bomb rather than the fact maybe those movies just aren't good.

Avatar is funny to bring up since they are the highest grossing movies in the world (probably because they have super simple stories and cool visual effects) but even they have environmental themes that are as subtle as a brick being thrown in your face. Of course the way those films handle it is that they are pretty outdated and have as much nuance as Captain Planet yet made billions despite that (again likely due to simplicity and vfx)

Roll back the environmentalism in a story about beavers?

Funny choice. Because beavers build dams that flood land and the best way to deal with them is dynamite (on the dams and in their nests).

Also, beavers are matriarchal, so no surprise if this is another grrrrl power story.

So apparently Disney was recently caught being supremely lazy with a new gift shop they put up right outside the Haunted Mansion. Not only does whole building just look like a shed, but it was decorated with AI portraits bought from Redbubble and decorations from Amazon. I know everyone has their own opinions on AI art, but to me, a corporation using it is a sign of just how cheap and lazy they are about their product, especially one as huge as Disney.

Yeah I agree. If it's like, a fan animation of something using AI to imitate the original characters' voice, then yeah, that's fine. If it's a corporation doing it though, especially one Disney's size - no excuses there.

That's like the Glasgow Willy Wonka tour

Rolly Crump is rolling in his grave.

Did they even actually canonically make the troon baseball character cis or are they just angry the character is treated like a normal girl with a slightly weird voice without a heavy focus on troon drama in a childrens sports show?

Unless the character suddenly got a Turning Red-tier period scene or similarly added, really they're just assuming her bio gender 🤔

>Pixar is making a movie called Hoppers
>It's like they want to forget one of their previous characters with the same name who was voiced by Kevin Spacey
