Sometimes I try to use twitter and remember how shit it is. For a guy obsessed with progress, Musk sure does enjoy draconian web design such as:
  • Mandatory 48 hour wait periods to change information if you log in from a new browser (which is easy if you use something like Mullvad, or have any due diligence about not leaving your web browser's cache full of shit.)
  • Direct messages being heavily restricted by default (you have to change it), so if you want to reach somebody for a specific reason you have to post at them publicly.
  • No option to delete direct messages for both the sender and recipient. Extra frustrating because Twitter had this until they changed it.
  • Basically nothing is encrypted or secured. This is embarrassing for a website that serves as a soapbox for every possible world figure or celebrity you can imagine. This has been the case since at least 2020 and nothing has changed.
  • All the usual targeted ads and "Stuff you might be interested in" bullshit being turned on and requiring (I counted) six menus to fully, properly disable.
  • The site clearly targeting you anyway, trying to paint a picture of your political biases and then flood you with outrage bait. (Reddit also does this. Your website is like Reddit.)
  • Abrupt full screen cock-blocking notifications about new features you don't likely give a fuck about.

The only thing I’m thankful for regarding Elon is that he’s redpilling more and more people daily that our politicians are elite-captured (thanks, Citizens United!), laissez-faire capitalism is actually a complete fucking sham of a system, and trickle-down economics is one of the biggest lies ever fed to the American working class.

I’ll bring the popcorn and the guillotine.

not to mention shit like enabling notifications for an account you follow only works selectively, several accounts i have them enabled for have never given me notifications for anything, the site is dogshit and barely works.

These techno feudalists think they are four years out from abolishing the white house and crowning themselves king. Elon really is one shit meme away from getting Trump to trust bust his ass out of spite. You could argue Biden did enough to try to annoy Musk, but it was all mostly procedural (Because Elon kept dumping contaminated water in a nature preserve). Elon polarizing the right on the H1B issue proves how delusional he is. His popularity is only at the pleasure of the MAGA base. And Trump hates those who attempt to eclipse him the most. And that's the current political paradigm.

World War 3, massive economic collapse, another pandemic might be the final straw the public/president needs to ship these billionaires off to Alaska. Even if it is a few to keep the others in line. The thirst to see heads roll is very bipartisan these days.
