Interesting. Even this partial report is pretty damning.

We already know how much their actual expenses should be, so if you subtract that from the income, there is still a massive discrepancy. The amount of assets also doesn't add up, since this operation could be run on a shoestring budget and they would not have an asset total even half as high as that, unless their vehicle's value was added as part of the total, and considering the type of service they offer, they shouldn't even include that as an asset, since it's not essential to running a volunteer telephone hotline in any way.

Someone with cash to burn should definitely pony up for the full version, I'll bet any competent lawyer or accountant could make an even more damning analysis.

On an related note; it seems to me that all the paperwork for TLL is in El Niños name. Kjel is only mentioned as co-founder and board chair while El Niño is director and CEO and hence would be the person held legally responsible for any fraud or criminal activities taken by TLL.

Actually a wide number of charities do use a good chunk of their cash to ensure cash flow is consistent. This is normally eaten up by plane tickets and other such meetings. In TLL's case they trundle around the country in the Troon-Van. A lot more money is going somewhere else considering they no longer need as much in hotel bills. Likely maintenance on whatever home they have and other living expensive.

I've decided to submit all of the other sections now so that people who have the opportunity and know what the needed links and files are can insert them while I'm away for most of today. Some of those sections have no tagging at all, some have tags which I inserted while I was working on the document while the wiki was inaccessible the other day. The last two sections were already there and I plan to delete or move them to their own page once the replacement sections are totally completed. Once I get back this evening I'll get back on the wiki and work on sections in order of importance. I hope everything can be done by Null's interview, but if not then at least the most important and damning chapters will be fully polished and ready for use.

I'm gonna go crash now. I'll read all responses in the thread this evening.

Greta saw that we were calling him out and scrutinizing the flaws in the low rate of answered calls, inaccurate clarification on monthly statistics, and pointing out the backgrounds of members and volunteers that he and Nina put anything that should be public on lockdown. That includes /volunteers, /board, the call log, map, and data that gave the Null bot all its tweets.

What Greta forgot is the internet never forgets.

I feel like fielding 1000 suicide calls in two months is not actually something to get excited about. I get what she's trying to do, (congratulate her team on a "job well done,") but it comes off more as being excited that so many trans people are suicidal.

And honestly, I would be fine if these people were the ones running the show.

This is the real tragedy, IMO. Having a dedicated suicide line for someone who is trans is genuinely a good idea, but the way TLL appears to be run is a travesty. The best thing that could happen is to get Greta as far away from it as possible.

Also, it's really super easy to have a great suicide hotline employee retention rate when no one takes any calls.
