This is true. The abortion issue is dead on a national level. The Christian faction is not what it was even 20 years ago.

I would like to be optimistic as you man. I just have seen Dev do this before. It feels like he is "realigning" after Trump's win. This goes with his general attitude towards "the state is right". Now if he is getting back on track, cool. Happy days. I just don't see it. This was a easy dunk and fits his interests in vidya and politics to make this video.

How have people not cottoned on to exactly what Dev is doing? He has done this a few times now with the Trucker video being the most prominent example. He references a large video he 'is making' and how it will completely support his side then... never releases it. People wait for it to be released to call bullshit on him -in case- he can actually back up his claims but the whole point is to never release it so he can hide behind its alleged existence.

Evangelicals, hardcore trad Christians, Puritans whatever, these groups want very different things than modern progressives to whom the term applies, and the best people calling them both woke can muster as connective tissue is "They would like both censor people if they could bro.". As far as I'm concerned the level of power evangelicals ect had back in the "Satanic Panic" and/or "They're banning vidya" days has always been overblown, you can tell that by the fact that everything they criticized just became more popular, it seems like they were just a convenient boogeyman to help turn a generation against religion and or boost product sales.

That is part of the point. "Woke" as a term hit the mainstream and now its in the mind of the general populace as something bad. Conflating "Woke" with the right serves two main purposes. The first is as said it is meant to reskin a faction that has no power and allow the left to claim that the right is currently engaging in the same shit it is. And to dilute the damaging term to allow its power to be reduced in the long term and hopefully allow them to return to DEI initiatives once it is less toxic.

The end goal, alongside rebranding all DEI initiatives under a new label and a quieter façade, is to allow themselves to retain all current policies while attempting to use the wave of backlash agaisnt them against their opponents in turn.
