was looking for a picture of Saturn Devouring His Son by Francisco Goya for... reasons... and I came across these redbubble stores advertising prints and shit of the painting and it had me dying from laughter. Just the mental image of going to your friend's place to feed their cats or something and the guy has a huge painting of this or a pillow on his couch in his otherwise normal abode had me in stitches

You owe it to yourself to check out some of the other Black Paintings by Goya, if you havent already. Both the paintings themselves and the backstory are fascinating and haunting.

Saturn devouring his Son is definitely the most famous, but all have the same creepy vibe, like you're looking at something you weren't suppose to see. Even worse, they were painted directly onto the walls of his house while he was drinking himself to death, in the dark (as he was so broke he couldn't afford lamp oil), so their placement in the house has a lot of significance. They were likely the last things he ever saw.
