New Orleans: Multiple people dead on Bourbon Street as 'car ploughs through crowd'​

Reports suggested a vehicle had driven through a crowd on New Orleans' extremely popular Bourbon Street, killing multiple people.​

Multiple people have allegedly been killed after a vehicle ploughed through a crowd of revellers on New Orleans' famous Bourbon Street in the US, according to local media and eyewitnesses.

New Orleans Police Department said that a lorry may have run down the group on the street, which is in the Louisiana city's French Quarter.

Witnesses speaking to CBS News claimed that a vehicle crashed into a crowd at high speed, and then the driver got out and started firing a weapon, with police returning fire.

It was unknown how many people have been killed or injured, but unconfirmed reports on social media claimed it is a "mass casualty" incident.

The incident allegedly occurred around 3.15am local time at the intersection of Bourbon Street and Iberville.

In a post on X, a journalist at local news outlet WGNO-TV wrote: "NOPD source states that as many as 10 fatalities after driver in pickup truck plowed into crowd on Bourbon Street.

"Multiple more injuries. Mayor and police chief on scene," he added, though this has not yet been confirmed.

car of peace confirmed

The FBI has released a statement which says the person who drove the car into a crowd of people is dead and the attack is being investigated as an "act of terrorism".

"This morning, an individual drove a car into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, killing a number of people and injuring dozens of others," it reads.

The statement adds that the person then "engaged with local law enforcement and is now deceased".

"The FBI is the lead investigative agency, and we are working with our partners to investigate this as an act of terrorism," it concludes.

Impossible, if it was a white you would have his face (pre and post death) already plastered everywhere. My first instinct was nigger since it's not the first time the US has one chimpout like that, but all the "terrorisn" talk makes me think nigger of the sand variety. They are still thinking about the spin they want to give it, specially with the German sandnigger attack still so fresh.

It's just a glorious happy if a bit debaucherous scene that people, adults young and old can enjoy if you like to party. It's been over a decade since I've been, but last time I was there there were cops everywhere and barricades blocking Bourbon Street at every entrance. How the fuck did this loser get around the barricades?

I'm at an age where all of my friends have kids and I'm just happy to have 1/1/25 off work. I enjoyed a quiet NYE night with my dog while streaming a concert. I'm going to new years day ham dinner in a few hours and I wake up to this awful news and I'm already bummed out and sad on the first day of the year. Fuck this loser terrorist so much, I'm seriously, fuck him to death.

MSM haven't even confirmed whether it is a man or a woman. I agree that if he is white, we'll know the soonest. Arab I guess is a safe bet.

I'm glad we can come together as a community and rule out Japs, Chinamen and Koreans. God bless our model minorities.
