I'm not going to post it on the "has search gotten worse" thread since my post would get lost in there with hundreds of more on-topic comments about Google or some shit like it and I also think this is not a problem search engines can fix, I'm 99% sure it affects literally all of them indiscriminately. Even the most niche ones I don't know about or the most privacy-friendly ones that privacyspergs would recommend are prolly affected too. This is a completely different problem from just a bad algorithm that can't be fixed without doing some heavy tinkering. Firstly, these sites are always blogs and always use wordpress or some variant thereof, so having a search engine or script that automatically blacklists all entries that use wordpress would be neato.

Now I know these webshites have always existed, but due to SEO cramming they often got buried in search results if you were using a proper search engine, so they only really took off lately. 8 months ago, searching for anything was still doable, but now every 2 searches has atleast 1 of these on the first page and the ratio can get worse depending on the topic, 1/16 AI blog ratio is bad enough, but what if 1/4 of the links contain these dogshits? They seem to infest mostly normie topics like pets, video games or mythology.

So there are 3 types of writing styles that give it away that the website is poojeet/AI certified:
  1. It is extremely surface level, uninformative and probably even unhelpful if you have a problem and are looking for a solution. These sites are especially obvious when they cover Windows or Linux.
  2. It is totally schizophrenic. The text contradicts itself because AI is retarded, the images look uncanny because they too were AI generated and there's usually a "Final thoughts" or "Conclusion" section that doesn't need to be there. Normally they are only relevant on gossip articles, rant articles or speculation and theory discussions. So, you might see a "Final thoughts" or "Conclusion" section in a normal human-written article, but the AI doesn't understand when this makes sense, so a section like that wind up in most of them for no reason at all.
  3. It is formatted like a wikipedia article. Infact parts of or the entirety of the article was likely stolen from Wikipedia and AI was used to reword everything, so the page doesn't get penalized.
I hope there's no false positive in there, but here are all the sites I think are AI or Poojeet dogshit.
and I want to blacklist all of them permanently. Is there even any search engine that can do it?

At some point we'll be forced to go back to link indexing given the current trend of poojeet and AI blog spamming bullshit all over the place.

I'm a believer in dead internet theory, at least to an extent. With the announcement that Facebook is planning to populate it's site with "AI" bots, I fail to see what the point of Facebook would be at that point.

You might not have to. Supposedly Google has been "killing the internet" by preventing people from going to third party sites, and serving them AI answers instead.

Love the tutorial on Diamond Lobby for installing Java for Minecraft.

Glad A.I. is being used to help people overcome herculean challenges like install Java.

I'd suggest trying Kagi. You get 100 free searches when you sign up, it accepts disposable emails like Guerrilla Mail, and you don't have to give them payment information to try it for free. It's been about as good as search engines used to be in my limited experience. As someone who started pirating shit off the internet 30 years ago, I've found that some things are worth paying for these days. It's gotten that terrible. I'll be signing up for Kagi once I use my 100 searches as I'm only using them for queries I know will result in almost pure slop on regular search engines. I assume I could just keep making free accounts, but I'd like to see it succeed. Hopefully my opinion on it doesn't change as I use it more and look into the company.

I hate these so much. The dead giveaways are always the lengthy, overly detailed word salads for a topic that wouldn't need more than one paragraph to explain, and every topic including the kitchen sink on the top bar and side bar, but you'll still be clicking them due to their SEO manipulation and wasting a few seconds of your life by doing that vibe check before clicking off.

Thing is, you could absolutely block them, all it would take is a maintained hosts list which you could throw into uBlock Origin, Pi-Hole or any other content blocker of your choice, but I don't know if such a list exists. It should since it's a pretty prominent issue of the modern Internet. I tried doing a quick search and I didn't find any that explicitly target these SEO bot sites, or perhaps I'd need to find a proper term for those to find one. People are already maintaining purpose-specific website lists, like blocking porn sites, gambling sites, "fake news" sites, parentheses intended since who the fuck knows what is the definition the list maintainer uses and so on, so I don't see a reason why someone wouldn't maintain a list like that given how there is absolutely zero value to those sites. Hell, it's something that should be a part of uBO's default filters.

beyond how terrible the spam is for users, how in the world would it be worth it for advertisers to spend money on internet exposure when all the clicks and engagement for the astroturf is just bots instead of real users? there's no way to gauge anything anymore, all the bullshit metrics digital ad agencies use to squeeze more money from clients have become extra worthless.

VPN's are the best example of this that I'm aware of. The ceo crap is so extreme that nearly every post related to VPN's is just a barely disgused ad. Sponsor slop. It was bad before AI so I can't imagine how worse it's going to get. I just wanted to educate myself and get an in-depth understanding of how VPN's work but that information is buried so deep now.

The same thing is happening with product review blogs/videos. Everyone is trying to get those affiliate link clicks so they mass review all sorts of amazon products and shove the links in your face. You'll notice how the best item is almost always the most expensive. That's because if you buy that item the revierer gets a bigger piece of the pie. There's hardly any negative reviews, too, because that would discourage you from buying something and giving them a cut.

Pajeet tech lecturers are a bane on youtube. You want to find information about a technical topic, especially one that is dealing with a proprietary system with no public documentation. You find a 45 minute lecture about it on Youtube. You click the video and to your disappointment, you find the speakers is a Pajeet speaking the foul tongue he considers to be English. It's barely intelligible English with the "Mecca lecca hi, mecca hiney ho" sing song Hindi staccato mixed in that will fatigue and piss off the listener after 30 seconds.

Worse yet, are the ones with English titles, but the language is entirely street shitter speak. They might be able to buy fresh cow piss to drink with the few pennies per click they gained from Youtube monetization by placing misleading titles. It must be worth it to them.
