Why is this site I used to browse 15 years ago that was full of autism now a woke shitfest? MrEnter was talking about some "bury your gays" trope in his Lightyear video like TVTropes was the fucking bible. I literally can't think of any cases where gays/lesbos are killed or dead in media to get around censorship and still have them, how do these ideas take off?

You know in "Dead Poet's Society" where they have a book that tries to plot the greatness of a poem onto a graph? That's what TV Tropes has become. It's not a useful reference guide, it's taken all of the heart and savvy out of writing entertainment and reduced it to bitter autism.

I can't stand it there anymore.

You have to wonder how many of the bad writers who infest the industry today were/are TV Tropes readers. No doubt it's responsible for taking the Whedon knockoff style so popular nowadays and making it somehow even worse. Or how name-dropping trope names is now a substitute for actually being able to analyze a given piece of media.

I know for an fact that it spread to an gaming forum that I frequent. Every once in a while, some guy writes a essay about something and cites TVT as the crux of his argument. And the scariest part is that people occasionally agrees with him

Ho-Ly shit. I've never seen that many thumps in one sitting. Thumps are such a bitch mechanic too, they remove the post and replace it with nothing so that no one except the mods can say what actually happened. They control the narrative of the thread that way, even if one of those guys was making a point.
