No real idea and he's trustworthy as a jeet with an h1 heading right for elon's indentured servitude 14x7 camps respectful impossible to find domestically skilled labor gigs, but I think his claim is more computer/internet stuff than yellow hat stuff, which would very quickly give you strong opinions on the jeet question.

I've always loved the fact that even as we steadily turned against Juju, most of us still tacitly accepted that the show required a professional audio engineer on-staff without question, despite the show being pre-recorded and being the most basic "two guys in a room" setup you could ask for. Unironically how does Juju fuck that up, I've seen trannies that manage to get two people in a room and level their audio.
my question is why? like bill burr just had a professional audio guy set it all up and teach him the very basics of recording and levels like how to hit record and stop and know the mic is on and was able to keep mostly good audio quality because he recorded it from the same room for years, other podcasts i listen to once they get the audio perfect they pretty much can upload immediately after recording. if not just go live on youtube and not worry about it at all. Dax has been recording in the same room for 8 years how is he still this bad at it
are very talented musicians.
something even Dax mentions is that its not really that hard to become a "talented" musician, if you can play piano you can pick up guitar easily, and then any other instruments, plus if you're theatrically inclined like Dax you're around a shitload of other people who are all going to know how to play most of the instruments, its a lot like singing where being competent enough that people enjoy listening is very easy vs being competent enough to make a living at it. its like how you see so many great actors doing characters on tiktok amazingly well. like we all think its crazy talented but its a dime a dozen in the big scheme of things, even if Dax was the best musician in his high school graduating class. that still means theres at least a million people with the same title and at least triple as many with the same level of talent.

What kind of engineering has Dick done?
i;m sure he had some internship at Caltech, as much as we all shittalk dick people forget he at least got into Caltech.

I guess because, unlike Bill, he just left Sean to it and never bothered to take an interest in the process. Even without hiring a professional to give you a QRD there are tonnes of YouTube guides out there that could teach you the basics (especially when you already have the set-up in place).

Dax is just lazy and knows that whatever retarded paypigs are still turning up probably use him as background noise at best so why bother making an effort.

Old resumes in the thread indicate Dax worked on a Computer Science Degree at Caltech. His grades were seemingly not particularly good. He nominally counts as an engineer because he went to an engineering school. But I would not consider anything he did engineering. He had to be good enough to get through a couple years of math and physics classes that are not easy. But he probably got through them with around a 2.0 average given his supposed overall GPA.

He worked for an unknown amount of time as a windows software developer for a company called apmsafe that did (as far as I can tell) file encryption software applications for windows back around the very early 2000s. Given his experience and the skills he lists, he was just another disposable "windows programmer" drone in that era. Caltech gives people a real leg up into getting into good places for jobs and that Dax didn't get into what I would consider a good place is very telling.

Just getting into Caltech is an accomplishment, but less of one because Dax has all the hallmarks of someone who got in through diversity points. The other thing worth saying about Caltech is that in Dax's era of being there (the late 1990s) it had a reputation of being incredibly gay.

There were rumors he was a rocket surgeon somewhere but that was proven to be false.

During the 1990s and 2000s, up to 2008, there was such a demand for engineers that you had to be a really big fuck up to not get a bunch of offers straight from school. Like you said, Caltech should’ve resulted in him getting a better job. A lot of reputable engineering firms were hiring talented engineers with little more than a handshake and a brief chat at a career fair. Truly halcyon days for STEM.

To take it further, had he stuck to a software engineering career instead of trying to be a “comedian,” he’d be making a lot more money than what he has for his Patreon right now. Plus getting pegged is considered a plus for California professionals and those faggots love Burning Man. I don’t think he could ever re-enter that world now because his reputation is terrible but he’d have made a lot more money if he was just a mediocre software engineer.

Dax has apparently announced the expectation of a child.

That was an impression some people had. Having relistened to the original show multiple times he never outright said it. Probably just confusion because he had a friend who was, he himself took flying lessons, and he pretended to be an engineer (he’s a coder, maybe, but not any kind of engineer).

As others said he did a B of Comp Sci and dropped out to work for a guy who had an encryption algorithm.

I don't check my podcast feed often, mostly because I "follow" a bunch of podcasts purely for background noise while I program, but today I happened to check and saw that PKA had an episode titled "PKA 733 w/ Dick Masterson & Oompaville : Dick's New Wife and Baby".

Did I drink too much over the holidays and miss that Dax finally married Maddox's sloppy seconds? If I had time I'd check out the podcast to see what the fuck they were talking about.

I know it's been speculated before that they got married a while ago. That was based on supposed slip-ups during the podcast where he refered to her as his wife. I don't remember who here said it, but they claimed that California law allows you to conceal your wedding license from public records. The secret wedding license thing could be total bullshit though.

The negotiations for getting married must have been tense. I'm wondering if he made her get a prenup agreement? I can't imagine him getting married without one.

Had a quick flick through the YT version since it's time stamped. There's a section near the end where they talk about Dick potentially getting married in the future, although as with literally everything else he refuses to give an actual straight answer and keeps joking about.

Confidential marriage licenses are absolutely a thing in California:

Dax appears to be seeking a new target. The Tateroach brothers are currently embroiled in picking on one of the Muslim grooming gang victims. What for, you might ask? Calling a spade a spade. You can see what her deleted comment about the Tates entails in the screenshots below.

I have to admit Dax semi-defending her original position was not on my bingo card. 2025 is off to a wild start. A gay slapfight between the Tateroach brothers and Dax would be choice.

I'd rather he go after the Tate brothers than Eric July. He will definitely get a lot more amusing content from them, that's a fact.
