"Doxing" in 2025

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Theyre named/indexed, thats what ill use going forward. Dox was a good word bc its short more then anything. Phonebooking or deanonimization are just too long, infodump is acceptable but its kinda nondescript, and that zoomer shit is gay no ones gonna use that shit. Opsec Accident while long is really fucking funny though.

state legislatures and law
slow enough for a good long chase i say
there will always eventually
all things rot eventually.

Receipts is what I first saw from Tumblr. They'd just straight xpost shit to Tumblr from KF and say "I got the receipts".
Doesn't work very well as a verb though. "Dox" worked because as a single unified word, it was effective as both a noun and a verb. Plus, that's more suited for the phrase rather than a literal nickname for something like people's personal information.

The term retard used to default to exceptional individual back in the day. For one that's actually active, the term "Don't touch le poo" defaults to pozz load my neghole. There are active word and term filters on the forum. You just haven't been told they exist or forgot they exist.
the use of word filters may be legally interpreted as the actions of a publisher, which may then remove the protections that section 230 provide to null that allow us to shitpost within the confines of the law. this has been discussed extensively here, and there's more thoroughly detailed information here.
It's been my opinion for quite a long time that worldfilters should be removed. I agree with iota here. Auto-deleting a post based on content would be a better idea if you have to do something.

Maybe even the 8) filter ("8 )" with the space removed) should be taken off. That's less likely to cause an actual issue though.

The #1 reason normal people don't want to be associated with this forum is the self-destructive tendency to dox everyone and their grandma. You don't need someone's address publicly displayed to laugh at their behavior. The reasoning is always that because it's in a phone book or public information, so it's alright to prominently display it to everyone. The problem is that you don't get a choice if you want your information to be public or not in countries like America. It's just restating "You live in America, all information is public somewhere, so I should know where you live and work".

Remember when one of your tards "phonebooked" the wrong guy's facebook and accused him of being a monkey-torture ringleader? Josh deleted the entire chain of posts because of how big a fuckup it was. Do you really need to know where mjegameandcomicfan89 lives? Or his mom's phone number? Does it look bad for you that Fuentes almost got made good at his house while you had his address prominently displayed?

The difference between something being hidden off to the side somewhere hard to see and on a front page or search result is obviously different. There's a reason people compile OPs instead of just expecting everyone to read thousands of pages. If the dox was just in one of those 1000 pages nobody would see it, just like a phonebook.

when the fuck did he say this was a free speech site?

it's a website made to laugh at retards first and foremost.
This guy is right. Everyone should know the site isn't about free speech, it's about laughing at retards. The only real rule is to not piss off Null, which is also a liability because you can't even hide behind the idea of free speech. Null banned the entire set of O&A for arguing with him and he saw them as a liability. Doxing is on the front page of every thread because Null wants it to be, and the moment he doesn't want it, it'll be gone.

Doxing as a whole is obviously a huge liability for this site as shown by having doxes in a separate box that guests can't see. Now you're running into more legal issues, and you still want to allow it? It's reasonable to ban someone because they're a liability to keeping the site alive, but the biggest liability now is Null's autism and choice to die on this one hill. You're willing to ask everyone to change the language they use to refer to doxing because you see it causing you trouble, but you still want to keep every and name, address, and phone number of every person who looks in your general direction.

You know what addresses and phone numbers are used for, and you know what sharing someone's employer will do. You know how bad swatting is right now and how bad the government is to responding to them. Even if you ignore the moral and legal issues, just have a basic sense of self preservation. You don't want your information posted because you know what people would do with it, and it's just as "public" as everything else here when you use "in a phone book" as a mantra.

This private information is unavailable to guests due to policies enforced by third-parties.

I like infodumping for two reasons:
1) It can just be shortened to 'dumps', "I've checked his dumps", "here are her dumps", "Huge dumps on this guy" etc, which makes me sensiblechuckle.gif
2) The phrase is strongly associated with autism, and this is KF.
It can also be abbreviated to "ID/ID'd" if people don't want to use "infodump" or "dump"
"Phonebooking" sounds kinda lame but I like that it does imply the information was legally obtained from a public source. The idea that people's private info is being "harvested" through "hacking/social engineering" is another part of the reason people are against "doxing"
