African-American Appreciation Thread - Highlighting contributions from our most productive citizens

There's a thread related to The Boondocks here. I'd love for it to be revived.
I'm not really that sad that the reboot fell through. Boondocks was considered pretty spicy even before Obama set race relations back by 40 years, with multiple episodes banned. In a post-Floyd world, I doubt they'd be allowed to actually say anything interesting. Or anything that isn't blind, uncritical praise of muh precious Pee Oh Cees and how the white devil is keeping them down.

I was talking about the thread itself, not the series.

On that note, that final episode of The Boondocks about Riley saying gay and their defense was that Riley is retarded reminded me of this student that mercilessly beat up an aide for taking away his Switch. An episode about that incident similar to the "sit down, nigga" story from the second season would've been interesting to see.

the modern world is more politically divided than ever and there's no room for kind, jokey, love filled criticism of something
it's the same reason why i don't want a King of the Hill reboot, the original show made fun of conservative Texan family folk and working men like Hank in a way that clearly came from a place of love and familiarity, but modern writers don't know how to do such a thing, they only know "make fun of side blue because you hate them" "make fun of side red because you hate them" or the all-cowardly "make fun of everyone 'equally' but very clearly still hate one side more, whereas the other side is just propped up as a pillow fort to fall back onto to evade criticism when people notice your bias"

Mike Judge is someone that I'll give the benefit of the doubt to.

"What is your name?"
"NUNNA YO BIDNIS YUNG MAN"
...
"You, you're the one that started all heated—"
"AH DIDDIN DU NUFFIN GIT ME YO SAWJIN BOAH"

I'm reminded of the attitude in the nigger community which you also see for example in many Asian communities of treating elders with automatic reverence. While it's true that young people do a lot of dumb shit and brain development / wisdom will or at least can come with age it's still a hopelessly broken heuristic as evident from a situation like this one where the "old head" is just a retarded sex pest.

even when you know the original creator, i'd be worried
there have been many cases of original writers going to shit- i mean just look at any long running show whose creators are still on it that became horrible as the seasons went on, you can't blame anyone new for the change, the original creator or creators just forgot what they were doing
that aside, even if one guy in charge is still there and maintains his values and writing skills, he always inevitably acquired a new crew, and those nearly always fail him

Reboots and revivals, even at their very best, are pale shadows of the original runs. The Boondocks not coming back is a good thing.
I completely agree
However, I would love to see the Boondocks come back, precicely because I know it'll suck ass- it'll be funny to see
Best case scenario it's just a dogshit cartoon that'll be humorous to see be terrible, at worse (and by worst I mean funniest) it'll absolutely demolish race relations further, and only good can come from that

Got two car chases for you - one fatality - both out of Milwaukee
They clearly dindu nuffin, they were just trying to get away from the Man of Pig! Damn you, Patrick Tomlinson!

Tax: In Tampa, three niggers got in a fight, and when an off-duty ATF agent tried to intervene, one of the niggers shot the agent in the neck, paralyzing him (the agent). The nigger is now being criminally charged. (Link/Archive)

The moral of our story? Don't intervene when niggers fight. Let them finish and then clean up what's left.
