My fingers don't work. Is it over for me? - Should I just throw myself into Mexico and get myself beheaded by the Cartels?

Have you looked into getting robot hands?

Or even like exoskeleton gloves that help you move your fingers?

Just wait for the future and you can get cyber arms like in Cyberpunk or MGS5. Till then you will have to deal with your shitty ones.

Also try holding a pencil or pen with your mouth and typing on the keyboard that way.

You’re not screwed, come on now.

Get surgery, go through agonizing physical therapy, and figure out how to adapt so you can live as close to a normal life as you can.

I don't know what to do. Exercises? stretches? Surgery? Place a giant spear on the ground and impale myself? Hit me.
I'm sorry you're going through this. I injured a couple fingernails last month and that hurt like the dickens and cut my WPM typing drastically. Not the same but it gives me respect for living your life down a couple digits.

Here's my ideas: research computer peripherals designed for people with limited mobility, and see if any of them would be helpful to you. (Maybe use Siri voice commands to help with this so you don't have to type and click too much.) Get some enhanced voice-to-text software so you can dictate code and then proofread it with AI to limit the number of manual edits you need to key in. Dictation software could help you write all kinds of things with minimal clicking. Sip 'n puff devices could assist you with web browsing, reading emails, etc. and reduce mouse clicks as you go about your day.

I hope that helps. If I think of anything else useful I'll chime in.

P.S. cursory research also suggests you can get special joysticks, eye trackers, and chin/tongue switches to give you more input to the computer with minimal (hand palm only) or no motor skills at all. So basically there's options for someone who needs to use a computer for work and doesn't have hands that can type.

"I didn't go to the doctor because I thought they were all jews and now I'm crippled for life"
2024 account, checks out.

I hope you people realize he is making this up for attention
damn and here's me trying to be helpful like a fool

I've been working with some other developers on cross-platform STC modules for a while now. I've definitely improved my workflow by automating some things with speech!
