These people that get "hacked" do so because they have weak passwords. If your livelihood requires something like Youtube and you have a big enough channel then you need to use two-factor authentication. And... don't click on .EXEs that you can't verify.

Something like this is never just about strong passwords these jack your sessions. So even if you change your password. They can still regain control and change your changes back. It has been happening to a lot of youtubers, even ones as big as Linus Tech Tips.
They space their exes name to only show the .pdf part in the fake email. So it counts on peoples guaranteed lazyness to fully vet every sponsor email. Before downloading any attachments.
It is a well known Indian street shitters scam now.
Even if they only trick 1 person, it is worth doing. Because the attack then brings in the true money makers with the fake crypto livestreams. They used to do it with a livestream of a video of Elon Musk talking about crypto. With scam links that says, send us 1btc and we will send you 10btc back.

Dude I work in IT. I've got certs in security and all sorts of things. I'm more than aware of how these things work and in most cases two-factor authentication is the easiest way to deal with it.

There's other options like don't open any attachment from somebody you don't know. Always check the attachment before opening it because you can hide the EXE but you can't make it disappear. One thing I always tell people, always turn on the file type option so you can see if it's an EXE or not. And then never use your admin account, or an account with admin purposes, for your day to day stuff. Keep it as a normal user but one that doesn't have the right to install anything new or run unapproved apps. If you need to run something or install, log in as admin and run it that way.

And if you're stupid enough to believe and follow Crypto livestreams then you deserve everything you get.

My post is mostly for the uninitiated lol
Some people just don't have the streetsmarts to check email headers. It is up to us to laugh at them.

ripple seems to target gaming channels. Did you know gaming got hacked by them either last year or earlier this year. And another gamnig channel if i remember correctly
