There are countless of people doing thankless jobs on a daily basis, they cash their paycheck and find enjoyment and confirmation in other pursuits. These game developers think they have a right to demand success, and if they are confronted with reality they get defensive and aggressive. They are unused to failure, because they were handed everything they achieved. They either joined a successful studio that had created great products before or way hired into their positions because of outside parameters (DEI requirements for super cheap government funded loans or tax cuts for the parent companies).

They thought "I made it! I am a successful game designer! People love the things I create!"
They were wrong. People hate their games.
