Jan 5 (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to announce as early as Monday that he will resign as Liberal Party Leader, The Globe and Mail reported on Sunday, citing three sources.

The sources told the Globe and Mail that they don't know definitely when Trudeau will announce his plans to leave but said they expect it will happen before a key national caucus meeting on Wednesday.

The Canadian prime minister's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment outside regular business hours.

It remains unclear whether Trudeau will leave immediately or stay on as prime minister until a new leader is selected, the report added.

Trudeau took over as Liberal leader in 2013 when the party was in deep trouble and had been reduced to third place in the House of Commons for the first time.

Trudeau's departure would leave the party without a permanent head at a time when polls show the Liberals will badly lose to the Conservatives in an election that must be held by late October.

His resignation is likely to spur fresh calls for a quick election to put in place a government able to deal with the administration of President-elect Donald Trump for the next four years.

The prime minister has discussed with Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc whether he would be willing to step in as interim leader and prime minister, one source told the newspaper, adding that this would be unworkable if LeBlanc plans to run for the leadership.

India is not to blame for everything but there are valid cases where blame should be put on them like how Pierre used them to help get O toole out of power. That and he was kinda a weak opposition leader, during the WE charity scandal he pushed for a anti corruption committee to investigate Trudeau and when it failed he just tucked his tail between his legs and went "well what about if the health committee does it?"
Its also a bad look for the conservative leader to play ball with literally anything liberal so seeing him push for at home covid testing or push back against the idea of a mid pandemic election hurt him in the eyes of CPC voters.

I do want to mention though Trudeau leaving voluntarily means nothing because he did his job of sabotaging us, and is now being promoted to a new position at the U.N. This isnt over until he is imprisoned and his assets seized as loot stolen from the country during his tenure.

Canada would not be treated like Puerto Rico because it's not a tiny island full of garbage but a massive landmass full of resources (and still a few remaining white people). It will see massive investments, massive job growth, and direct access to the world's biggest economy. Not to mention that Canadians will finally have access to the same rights and protections that all Americans have. Also a functional constitution, gun rights, not having a foreign leader on their money, etc.

Oh yeah man, I don’t deny that. It looks nice for our GDP and millions of subsidized workers are extra nice for the companies. I just don’t think the metrics support any racial replacement theory in Canada, it would literally take more than a century.

within my life time we have dropped from being 80% of the population to being 67%, by 2050 we will be a majority minority country, in toronto this is already the case
