UN Canada PM Trudeau to announce resignation as early as Monday, Globe and Mail reports - It’s Ovah, Hosers. Sorry.

L/A
Jan 5 (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to announce as early as Monday that he will resign as Liberal Party Leader, The Globe and Mail reported on Sunday, citing three sources.

The sources told the Globe and Mail that they don't know definitely when Trudeau will announce his plans to leave but said they expect it will happen before a key national caucus meeting on Wednesday.

The Canadian prime minister's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment outside regular business hours.

It remains unclear whether Trudeau will leave immediately or stay on as prime minister until a new leader is selected, the report added.

Trudeau took over as Liberal leader in 2013 when the party was in deep trouble and had been reduced to third place in the House of Commons for the first time.

Trudeau's departure would leave the party without a permanent head at a time when polls show the Liberals will badly lose to the Conservatives in an election that must be held by late October.

His resignation is likely to spur fresh calls for a quick election to put in place a government able to deal with the administration of President-elect Donald Trump for the next four years.

The prime minister has discussed with Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc whether he would be willing to step in as interim leader and prime minister, one source told the newspaper, adding that this would be unworkable if LeBlanc plans to run for the leadership.

This is a guy who’s cutting sales taxes on home purchases under 1M, who was openly in opposition to capital sales taxes, wants to cut a tax that is detrimental to a huge portion of our economy and was openly against a GST break during the holidays. I don’t know what to say.
Yeah and Doug ford is gonna get us buck a beer, i heard the same bullshit from the conservatives before

To celebrate this occasion, let's talk about Justin Trudeau's other greatest accomplishments besides his amazing Euthanasia Healthcare policies and mass importation of 'jeet labor.

Economic mismanagement

27 August 2015, Stephen Harper on Trudeau's deficit plan
The previous Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper, wanted Canada to continue developing its balanced budget so that it will always have a surplus. Thanks to Harper's policies, Canada's economy held as one of the strongest against the 2008 Recession, had the lowest debt-to-GDP ratio in the G7 economies, and finally achieving a surplus for the country's economy in 2014 for the third time (previous times were 2006, 2007).

Trudeau on the other hand promised to give Canada three "modest" deficits totally $30 billion throughout his tenure because the budget "will balance itself." Harper warned to voters in 2015 that deficit spending will never stop because governments will always be inclined to spend more. Since Trudeau took office, Canada's debt doubled from $600 billion to $1.2 trillion in his endless spending promises. It can be said that most was earmarked for COVID ($576 billion), but over a third of it ($200 billion) had nothing to do with COVID. In addition, it was recently reported that Canada had an additional $62 billion deficit following Chrystia Freeland's resignation as Minister of Finance in December 2024.

A most unreliable partner

Xi Jinping said:
太天真了. (So naive...) - Comment after conversation with Trudeau at 2022 G20 summit
Canadians (once) enjoyed laughing at the United States being the West's lolcow and for having a "clown" as a president. However, what Trudeau does as his foreign policy made many nations laugh at Canada for being a stupid and gullible nation that can't be trusted.

For instance, Trudeau accused the Indian government of assassinating a prominent Sikh nationalist leader. It is to note that Canada has a massive Sikh community that supports independence of Sikh majority areas in India called Khalistan. India and its Prime Minister Narendra Modi, obviously outraged, expelled most, if not all, of Canadian diplomats from the embassies in India. Canada then retaliated by expelling Indian diplomats (the most you can get from Trudeau to expel 'jeets). Governments of the Anglosphere had to quickly rush to Trudeau's aid to plead to India to stop it. It is to note that India is in BRICS and is Russia's major ally, so what Trudeau did solidifies the country's anti-Western allegiance. If you also want an "I told you so" moment when Arabian nations warned Europe of the refugees they are importing, India also warned Canada of human trafficking network operations responsible for turning Canada into 'jeet-land. In a conversation in the 2022 G20 summit, President Xi Jinping of China was vastly disappointed in Trudeau for again, disinforming the mainstream media with contents that were not spoken of in a private conversation between Xi and Trudeau. Trudeau countered that Canada has free speech and freedom of expression, of which Xi told him that was not the fucking point and told Trudeau not to do that again. This conversation, of which was filmed, made many side with Xi, with Americans, Canadians, Indians, and Chinese all united in their disdain of Trudeau. Canada-China relations is already at its lowest, with China viewing Canada as being some American puppet state when Trudeau let the United States arrest the daughter of Huawei's CEO at a Canadian airport. Reportedly, Xi was outraged because he learned this from his own Communist Party officials instead of the Canadian government itself.

If you want to blame someone for uniting the 'jeets and the chinks against their utmost hatred from one other, you can thank Trudeau.

Disinformation

2022 Freedom Truck Convoy
Yaroslav Hunka

Trudeau spread disinformation accusing "right-wing extremism" to persecute his critics. Trudeau compared the 2022 Freedom Truck Convoy in Ottawa to Jim Crow segregationists and to Nazi Germany without any evidence. Trudeau accused a Jewish member of Parliament who supported the convoy of supporting “people who wave swastikas.” One of Trudeau's Liberal Party colleagues attempted to connect that the truckers’ “Honk, Honk” slogan was a coded slogan for “Heil Hitler." In another example, Trudeau called parents "far-right" because they believe they should have to consent to whether their children under the age of 16 can change their sexual identity.

During the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, Trudeau congratulated Yaroslav Hunka, a ethnic Ukrainian Canadian citizen who once fought for the SS Division Galicia of Nazi Germany's Waffen SS, when he attended a speech done by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Parliament. This action outraged the entire world. Speaker Anthony Roda resigned, Russia found itself more justified in its invasion to "de-nazify" Ukraine, and Canada's Parliament then quickly passed a motion to condemn Nazism. Humiliated, Trudeau called it an "embarassment" and quickly sideswiped to warning against “Russian propaganda and Russian disinformation.” Trudeau's use of disinformation of extremism is designed so that he can incorporate a new policy, censorship and persecution.

Censorship and Persecution

Citing the Freedom Truck Convoy, Trudeau invoked the Emergency Measures Act for the first time in Canada's history to freeze bank accounts of those who had donated to the convoy as a show of support. Trudeau then made efforts to regulate and control the Internet with the Online Streaming Act and Online News Act, giving the Canadian government more powers to oversee and regulate what you see online.
  • A liberal judge in Calgary sentenced a Christian pastor to two months in jail for his 20-minute speech to the truckers’ Freedom Convoy.
  • Backed by Ontario's court, the College of Psychologists of Ontario ordered Jordan Peterson to undergo social media training because his opinions were problematic.
To jail his opponents, Trudeau would hide these efforts in Bill C-63, also known as the Online Harms Act, which is intended to protect children. Instead, what Trudeau is actually proposing in the bill is:
  • Life imprisonment for "advocating genocide" (increased from 5 years)
  • Up to 5 years for "willful promotion of hatred" (increased from 2 years)
  • Potential one-year imprisonment for crimes not yet committed but deemed likely
This means that a government official can accuse someone of "promoting genocide" and that sometime will get more time in jail than a rapist. Trudeau then shared his methods of persecution with other countries of the Anglosphere: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

This will be Trudeau's legacy. He destroying the demographic makeup of Canada by mass importing Indian labor, destroyed the country's Universal Healthcare system to the point they need to use euthanasia to decrease the number of patients, doubled Canada's debt in endless spending promises, humiliated Canada in the International World, and turned probably the most well-off Western democracy into a 1984 British-esque authoritarian nation. That is his greatest accomplishment.

Fantastic.
Now you can take him to court for all the crimes he committed while in office.

What's the run-down on this guy? I thought Maxime Bernier was supposed to be the based Canadian PM candidate but I don't know much about Canuck politics.

He doesn't look too torn up about it. He had a good run, nearly a decade in his country's highest seat of power. Now he gets to retire, fuck off to his vacation home, and let his party deal with the fallout.

Whats crazy is that he doesn't even hit the top 5 longest serving PMs in history, even by the time he leaves in the spring Harper will still beat him for 6th longest serving by a few months.

I miss when Canada was boring and look forward to them becoming boring again. Make Canada Boring Again! That would be my campaign slogan.

So are you leafs voting CPC or PPC? I don’t know much about your election system, so would a vote for PPC depend on constituency or would it be a wasted vote all around?
