Our respective analysis are both on record, I think the difference is more in the semantics. The reason I favor "different animals" is there is no social overlap between the two. The people with their hands on the levers of power have no direct interaction with people like Tarl. On the other hand, I will concede that Tarl behaves the same way as the Luciferians in the limited domains of power he has, as evidenced when he "commands mother" and pulls antics with women, like the one that has currently got him in legal trouble in the Big Easy. I do invite you to consider that I labeled Luciferians as a type of Satanist and it was in response to the statement contained below. I classify Satanist more like a genus and the lowbrow and highbrow as different species, you classify them as the same species. The arguments for both approaches are on record and readers can make their own determinations.

I think I remember reading that when Austin Osmin Spare first came up with chaos magic he explained his theory to Aleister Crowley. Crowley freaked out on him calling it black magic and wanted nothing to do with it. Possibly Crowley was just being petulant, but not exactly a ringing endorsement when the "wickedest man in the world" thinks what you are doing is too evil.

My interaction and statements in the Rekieta thread are on record. None are favorable. The more competent, socially adept Luciferian type only recruit from people who have demonstrated themselves to have what it takes to play the game at a very high level. Tarl will never be invited into their club for obvious reasons. Even people like Aquino and Parsons, who were open about their affiliations to the general public, are something of a middle tier, as the true masters of that game keep their affiliations secret. Would you consider a high level Mafioso and a street thug the same animal or different animals? I would argue different animals, as the former has a variety of skills that the latter does not have, even if both are drains on society. One is apparent to the eye, the other is shrouded in sophisticated deceptions. We both see a distinction. You just call it a runt/adult distinction.

Whether you find this relevant or not, I'll leave to you. One makes a Faustian bargain for SOME power from a position of being an abject incompetent loser, the other is highly competent and achieves material success by merit but is still making a Faustian bargain for MORE success. The life loser variation, like Tarl, is not someone who tasted success and is insatiable, he is someone who is starving and has a wish fantasy. The aristocratic types have legitimate skills, but no amount of power/resources are ever enough, so they turn to the supernatural for even more.

Theoretically, a strong hand making a petulant teenager stay the course can get him to abandon the stupid fantasy. The life loser, with the proper externally applied discipline, at least has a shot of being made to approach life in the correct fashion or inspired to do so. If they realize they can achieve without making a deal with "Stolas", they might put such notions aside. Not a guarantee, but at least a fighting chance. Conversely, nothing can ever dissuade the ones who enter it from a position of power.
