Oh what kind, actually? What types of diplomatic pressure could be brought to bear against the US that would have ANY meaningful impact? What countries have the independence of action and resources to actually sanction or even censure the US publicly, and have it do anything? What exactly could Poland do, or France, or the UK, or Japan, what would they do, why would they want to do it?
Denmark is founding member of NATO, if the United States does anything against them they could decide to leave the organization. Furthermore it would reflect badly on other allies to the point they may believe the United States can't be trusted. It could weaken America's sphere of influence in Europe.

Taking the Panama Canal from Panama would not be hard if done by force but it would anger quite a few Latin American countries who are the very countries that can control the pathways illegal immigrants come into the United States, for Panama in particular there is the Darién Gap on the border they share with Colombia.

It is doubtful that anyone would directly come to aid to either country since that would be suicide but there would be outrage from some politicians. Nothing is guaranteed to happen of course but these are factors to consider if certain actions are taken.

Trump is giving reporters fodder until he's inaugurated. He's not going to give specifics on his important goals because the minute he does, the Biden administration will do some executive order to screw things up, or the uniparty will all of this sudden realize they can pass laws and screw things up. It does give pearl clutchers and doomers something to whine about, and also provides some interesting speculation, too. Above all, reporters are chasing their tails, so it's a win win.

Trump threatens Denmark with tariffs "at a very high level" if they don't relinquish Greenland.
Says the US needs Greenland for national security reasons, and that Greenland will likely vote for independence or to become part of the United States.
As I said earlier this likely explains his "not ruling out military or economic force" comment. He's a businessman, not a warmonger.

The US having Greenland basically gives the US a lock on the North Atlantic in any general continental war with Russia. Russian subs would have a very hard time getting into the Atlantic to fuck with shipping (military supplies and reinforcements) from North America to Britain/France. US already has Iceland on lock but Greenland isn't developed for that role to the degree Iceland is, if the US annexes Greenland that would change very quickly

Do the doom posters enjoy doom posting? Seems like a miserable way to spend time. I hope at least some of them get paid to do it.
I'm not sure how serious anyone's being about annexing Canada, or renaming the Gulf of Mexico, but I'm having that feeling from that old South Park episode. Enough jokes, what the fuck is Trump planning to do to actually fix up the country? This isn't a game.
At the press conference (you watched it, right), Trump said Canada is getting $200 Billion from not having to pay for a military and being able to sell to the US in favorable conditions. Trump said the US does this because we like to be good neighbors, and it has become a "custom". Trump said now Canada has to pay, no more free rides.

Renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America is an obviously provocative thing to do. If Mexico is going to be a bad neighbor, then why let them have their name on it. It is a point of negotiation leverage that costs virtually no money, but you can demand something of the other party. In the end, maybe the US changes the name; that would lower Mexico's standing in the world.

Enough jokes, what the fuck is Trump planning to do to actually fix up the country? This isn't a game.

At the press conference Trump announced $100+ Billion in pledged investments by corporations looking to build server farms and power plants. He talked a lot about energy leases ("drill baby drill").

He also spoke about getting the illegals out, and building more of the border wall.
Same as the other Presidents: war

You're registered for the draft right?
This is such shallow "gotcha" garbage. It is "fast food" news.

Trump doesn't need to send in a drafted invasion force into Greenland or Panama. That would be the dumbest checkers move possible.

Greenland Scenarios: the natives want to join the US (bribe them, color revolution), "Chinese attack", massive tariffs, etc.

Panama: old treaty/contract said XYZ and Panama failed to uphold so the US gets it back; bribe the Panama government; "Chinese attack"; massive tariffs, etc.

First, I will clarify: I don't think the US is going to invade and annex strategic territories, it's just improbable that we can't get what we want other ways. But I think if the US did, it would have a muted amount of outrage that would be irrelevant to the overall functioning of the world system, which remains fundamentally and deeply, deeply America-centric.

It's really hard to imagine an event that could somehow weaken America's strategic control over Europe, the alternatives for a European country are "eat shit, die poor" or "rearm with the resources of a small, shrinking country with no natural resources whose only plausible adversary is Russia," and the Danes aren't going to be embracing Russia. Russia has nothing on offer that's close to the package of security and prosperity that European alliances with America have been founded on. What status could the US lose? America takes Greenland from Denmark--would the French like to back out of NATO? Right now? Would Denmark? It would be funny if they did, and mean nothing to NATO, or to America's strategic interests in Europe--There's no competitive arms industry in Europe. In terms of strategic leverage, America has got everything and Europe has tourist sites, better food, and structural economic decline their political class lacks the imagination, talent, and will to fix.

These Latin American countries can die mad but they're going to be trading with us or starving, Venezuela and Cuba are both real, object examples of what happens if you consistently make the wrong decisions (from Washington's POV). There is no Latin American unity that would somehow harm America--hell the only retaliation you thought they could cook up was sending us their population, the equivalent of cutting your throat to get blood on your opponent. Furthermore, every surge in migrant traffic only drives the public and the Congress further toward sense on border control. If America invaded Panama and seized the canal and territory needed to expand it and improve it, there would also be a defensible chokepoint between America's southern frontier and the Darien Gap, and managing it would not require reliance on the Mexican government and its governing partners, the cartels.

"JUST IN - New York appeals court denies Trump’s bid to delay Friday’s sentencing in hush money case."
You know if I were Trump, and I'm merely sperging here, inauguration day the moment I am sworn in; the National Guard is showing up at Judge Merchan's house, the homes of the entire New York Appeals Court responsible, Alvin Bragg, and every single one of them is being placed under military arrest at gunpoint. There won't be a trial, I'd just hold a press conference announcing their Black Vanning and say "Fani Willis, Jean Carroll, you're both next. Don't bother running, they're already on their way."

Trump would never do this, but he should. That's what these people truly deserve.

Seems people have started digging in maga accounts after Massie called them out. They are not taking it well. Pot legalization thankfully failed in Florida.

The thread
I just saw that, I noticed he was oddly pushing that weed stuff for awhile, glad that didn't work. Usually DC's pretty good on info and I generally like him, but I'm not surprised he's an op of some kind. Then again, Massie has to be a worse shithead.
