I saw in a YT comment on proshipping discourse that proshipping actually meant not being nasty about fictional cartoons kissing. Meaning, for example, if you like Naruto x Hinata and I like Naruto x Sakura, then we won't be bad to each other about fictional characters and instead repeat each other and be supportive of what makes the ships cute or fitting. Even if it's a weird ship like Naruto x Nojiko (a one-off no screentime character from One Piece). It never meant SHIPPING FATHER X SON INCEST AND RAPE IS SMEGSY UWU. It meant don't be a bitch about your fujoshi fantasies being ruined by another fujoshi fantasy or a straight pairing. If a fandom is calling out people for liking and making incest, bestiality, rape, grooming, pedophilia, and all sorts of horrid, abusive things look sexy, good for them. i think proshipping as a thing is stupid at this point. whether or not it has a “real” definition (which is gone by now, everyone has entirely different interpretations of what it means,) the general consensus is that it supports an idealised version of unhealthy types of relationships. there is no going back on this.
to stick with that label is stupid. people who pledge to the ”better version” of proshipping shouldn’t use it, and should try to opt for another label, or even none at all, simply stating that they think what they think

i am not as bothered by “drama content” as most seem to be, the way I see it they’re just peeps getting by in our world while simultaneously spreading awareness on the predators that run amuck these days. nothin wrong with spreading awareness and making bread in the process, though I do agree that efforts should be made to support the victims, esp financially.

The synni situation was such a mess, I really wish it was handled privately considering how gentle the situation was in my opinion. As someone whos been around the selfshipping circle, it is practically TOO easy to accidentally end up befriending minors considering the entire community just revolves around wanting to be with fictional characters which is mostly done by the mentally ill and children alike so its just a case of someone getting a little too personal about it. I don't deny that Synni was a weirdo (and total idiot) for it but creating a public spectacle was the wrong move for every and each party involved. I'm so glad people woke up to the fact that for birdie it was all about le epic own on her roommate rather than creating an open nuanced discussion about how the selfship and animation community can harm the children who are drawn to it (i think of synni asking kids in her server about where to get nsfw ai bots, sharing suggestive selfship that sort of stuff). Not to get too PL here but yeah as someone who frequents the community there's a lot of children. Oftentimes I join adult spaces only for the mods to allow minors in. These are Discord servers. People are always against the odeas lf ID verification yet you're surprised when Minors comes in? I stopped being apart of the community only doing my own thing because you can never be sure.

Yeah, as someone whose into Cell as a character in general (not romantically) people get hostile over characters like it can't be the same exact character that people share? Oftentimes they forget that people have their own interpretation of the characters and would be annoying as fuck about it, then there's adults shipping themselves with minor fictionals. One time I met a TFTard who never got into Transformers when I was into the fandom and when I was in that space they began to watch it and CLAIMED ALLTHE INSTANCES OF OPTIMUS PRIME. The funny thing is, they barely even have uses for it, in fact they only watched RB and Bayverse and the Prime I posted was Animated. This was the first time I hated No Share rules because they would give excuses to have people talk more so they can claim popular characters and leave servers if someone slightly says they like the character they claimed. I left this server even though these people tried to gaslight me.

On another story, I had fascination with Story of Seasons when I first got the game on 3DS, I didn't know SoS was the new Harvest Moon until I realized how Harvest Moon shat the bed. So here I was and I found this redhaired character that I don't really obsess over as much because most of the time this shits stupid. So I joined a random ass server and popped in. The Raegertard who I would be calling Ena was essentially a nosharefag. She and I basically talked about the game all was well until I mentioned I liked him. She was a mod and she removed me from the server. (Abuse of power) I don't remember much after that so like weeks or months later I joined another server themed around SoS and guess who the fucks mod in that server? Yep Ena. She and I talked (Retard thought I was someone else.) then when she saw I liked Raeger she banned me.

This is why I left the community, it was for fun originally but retards collect characters and throws tard fits over characters being claimed on Mudae bot and even outright threatens people. Yes, they do deserve a thread the more I think about it. Glad I don't fw the community anymore after that if I do its usually on my own terms.
