i still don't feel good about this. meta as a company retains an insane amount of data on you. if you use any of their products, whatever the gamut of the spectrum, its a bloody mess. i don't trust that they won't repress news, that they won't quash freedom of speech in line with individual country policy req's (i.e; the uk, or somewhere even more censored) which will balls up a user with slightly subpar opsec.

pretty much, while there are always people ready to say "the future is now" there were some experts saying VR will need about a decade to cook, and that was back in 2014 when google cardboard came out. Apple Vision Pro is where VR should have started, instead its a lot of shitty headsets, you can do near lifelike Avis on the Vision Pro and the current meta quest can output 360 level graphics, thats a lot better than the pathetic Miiverse level Meta Avis.
Like if you want to get into VR, 100% go with Apple. no one will have anything that gets close to that level of quality for 4 more years.
