That's why gibbis is so useful. You can talk about shit casually but still learn from the autists popping in occasionally to contribute stuff about their pet passion. Pick and the animal threads and Three Phase and electricity related stuff are good examples. Everyone focuses so much on the "funny" part of the rules but "entertaining" and "informative" are also part of the rules and plenty of posters who aren't funny bring those things to the table.

Yeah, while GBS is under fire from the world's stupidest mod team most of the time you can usually spot the phenomenon we are talking about. Those are the good contributors but they are vastly outnumbered by the bad.

When those guys come out of their element they have meltdowns because they can't get you probated, but on their home turf they can run in a big enough group or have a like minded moderator to preserve their dumb opinions or protect them from being challenged intellectually.

The fat acceptance thread was a good example since people didn't even know that was actually a thing. That lasted all of a few hilarious hours before the thread that mentioned fat acceptance was gassed and the branch-off thread specifically about fat acceptance was gassed because fat people didn't like it and kept showing up to have meltdowns about their metabolisms being slow.

Expand that out to every topic being shit on and untold comedy potential being lost because ______ people don't like something. Which will never, ever, stop.

Lowtax pre-cuckening gave me the impression he was going to allow people to talk about whatever they wanted. Who cares if Genesplicer is a fat fuck sensitive about his bitch tits? Who cares if factsareuseless has antibodies that prevent him from understanding humor? Who cares if exmarx should formally apologize to humanity for being objectively the stupidest person who has ever lived? At least these people wouldn't be deciding what we were allowed to talk about. I'm on the edge of my seat with excitement this is literally the funniest thing to come out of SA in a long long time.

Also thank you for the thread recs my new friends! I will console myself with them until FAU comes to make me laugh, which is the obvious and easy solution to this sensitive situation.

Maybe they're thinking of all the really, really good jokes they know for us and that's why it's taking so long!

How can one man be so pathetic? He struck gold with SA. He proceeded to hand it over to a bunch of unfunny losers who destroyed the userbase and cost him millions. And for what? So he could sit around some podunk town in Missouri playing video games with Shmorky.

Now he's built up some motivation and decides to take SA back. Only the zilches he put in charge of it tell him to get lost, insult his wife, and proceed on their path to destroying the site. Imagine having to tell your fucking kid that's why they're on the free lunch program at school.
