When I first heard of horseshoe theory, I thought it was retarded, but man have these last few years made me less dismissive of it. It's concerning how often I see both sides of the political aisle say the exact same thing as each other. A random example is how you can look on /pol/ or Twitter and see Right-wingers act like the Democrats are a ferocious, organized force while the GOP is too spineless to stop them, but then if you look at Reddit you'll see Left-wingers say the exact same thing but inverted.

The objective difference is that US Democrats will use subversive tactics such as weaponizing institutions, lawfare, and knowingly passing illegal laws that will be upheld until courts examine them and find them illegal.

You need to evaluate the Democrats from the perspective of " if it serves the Revolution then it is good, if it doesn't then it's bad." This is how they think and how they act. It's why, in the long term, the State marches ever further Left and the Republicans at best slow it down slightly.

Republicans do not wield power as in they don't actually use it even when they have it. The Democrats do but say that any speedbump is the result of Republican fascism or whatever nonsense.

Actually invading canada would be an absolute logistical nightmare. Its the largest border and second largest country on the planet. Not really. Invasion by who exactly? Invading canada would be even more difficult than invading the US due to lack of logistical support, infrastructure, weather and the sheer size of the country. Its surrounded on 3 sides by ocean and by the US on the fourth. The only one in a position to even attempt it is the US because of its geography and that is a moot point because then defending canada isn't a concern. It doesn't require a particularly large military because of its location and geography and hasn't needed one since ww2 and that was only intended to operate outside the country for the most part. Even then it ended the war as the worlds 4th strongest military power. Nobody is invading by sea for the same reason nobody would be able to do that to the US. China can't do it, nobody in europe could or would have a reason to, russia can't pull it off logistically and would have to invade via an arctic wasteland with no roads, weather as bad as the worst russia can offer and cross through US manned bases to do it even if they could, which would force the US to get involved anyway (not that they could stay out of it because even if russia could somehow invade canada successfully that would leave them in a position where they now have a massive border with a now aggressive russia that couldn't be ignored for their own national security. Its not like they'd be in a position to push them back all the way to russia at that point either, its not practical. The security of both canada and the US are tied to each other whether we want it that way or not, if for no other reason than geography)

More importantly, can you imagine the Quebecians being told that no, fuck you, we don't HAVE an official language and it sure as shit isn't French, so you'll just have to get used to things being in English, which we know you understand and refuse to use because you're Quebecian Faggots (but I repeat myself).

They would be able to tell the US to fuck themselves on that one. They have legal agreements in place that guarantee certain rights as a condition of being a part of the country. Agreements that per international law and agreements with the UK would be inherited by the US should they join the country. They also would not tolerate being told they would not be permitted to leave the US if they chose to and would cause all kinds of problems at the first hint of it. It would be a legal clusterfuck. So would the issues with the natives, who have rights very different than the US and also protected. It would take years to sort all the shit out before any possibility of a union with the US could happen even if both sides wanted it to
