It’s incredible how lazy he is as not just an artist, but as a creator. He could easily label these reposts as “classics” to justify doing that if he gave half a shit. Guess he’s either too lazy to even do that, or (more likely), it’s part of another grift. He is banking on the few actual people that see his work on their dash to not notice.

And it seems to be working. What little troon audience he still has eats those reposts up, from what I can tell. Why actually work on a storyline for Assigned Male again, or pull from the headlines to further push his trans genocide propaganda when his audience gobble whatever candy colored slop they’re served?

That’s what makes the Finnish government telling him to be a contributing citizen for once or to fuck off all the funnier to me. Him crying about the ideas of paying taxes and talking to people in real life like everyone else was gratifying. He learned the hard way that he can’t always get his way out of work, or actual consequences, just because he has washed out dangerhair and claims his name is Sophie.

And with that, let’s see how long it takes into 2025 before he makes a new comic. Not a half ass PSA about how trannies are loved or how JK Rowling is Voldemort. An actual, true and honest, paneled comic where Billy Stephie shames Carole for being concerned about his welfare.

The other day, I spent a split second too long looking at a FB post before realizing it was violently transphobic. Guess what happened after that? For the next week or so, my feed was fully littered with transphobic posts. I had to click "I don't want to see this" a few hundred times for my feed to come back to a regular level of microaggressions.

It got me thinking about how people with anti-trans views are constantly inundated with content that confirms their bias, and how intensely social media polarizes us. The danger of this situation cannot be understated.

The era of social media needs to end. In addition to radicalization, we are all increasingly addicted to dopamine. Studies after studies have found that it is making us more anxious, depressed and unhappy.

Knowing this, making a living from sharing my art online creates an ethical dilemma for me. How can I be complicit in what social media is doing to our brains and our communities? I certainly can't quit. I believe in the importance of creating trans- and queer-positive art. But also, I can't keep actively engaging with social media.

I want this stance to inform my upcoming art and how I interact with social media platforms. Even though 2024 was the year where I posted the most new strips online, I have decided to take a step back and keep most of my new material for Patreon and Substack, as free content (links in the comments). Anyone can subscribe with or without paying, and you'll get an email anytime I post something new. Which is much nicer than having Mark Z decide what you see.

I'm not going anywhere - I will keep posting to this page, but you should expect more reruns.

Again, feel free to comment any nonsense because fb will probably hide that post to a lot of people.
