Sometimes I miss SoCal; the weather, the food options, the car scene, being able to do any sort of hobby within 2 hours of you.

Then I remember the taxes, the people going in to mind-numbing debt just to show off to people that don't care about them, the prices of everything being ridiculously high, having to live with roommates so you're not stuck in a total shit hole studio (or you're living with parents in an overpriced and outdated 2b/1ba), having to compete with effectively the entire world for entry-level jobs that aren't in retail or food service, being bombarded constantly by friends/acquaintances/exs that all fell for someone's MLM scam, the retards who constantly vote for the same damn political scammer every single time, the ever increasing amount of homeless that will never get fixed (because it's a racket), so on and so forth.

California Conservatives think they're conservative, which they are for Californians. Not for the rest of the country.

I don't think it will make much a difference with the city catching fire if they also have to pay some Mexicans to clean up sand.

Sand isn't as effective at putting out a fire, it basically requires that you completely cover the fire and suffocate it (probably near impossible to do with air drops). Water is great because it actively takes energy away from the fire.

I said it this morning about the Eaton Fire when it was a fraction of its current size, if that fucker jumps over into dense populated areas to the West and the conditions maintain, this fire could be on track to be one of the most destructive events in decades in the United States.

It is currently a disaster, but it could become biblical.

I won't consider it biblical unless the San Andreas fault kicks off and turns the unburnt infrastructure into rubble. Here's hoping people realize 1.2 million for a shitty 900sq ft shack is untenable and the CoL and housing market re-calibrates with the exodus that's going to happen.

So right now it's just forest fires boosted by high wind speeds engulfing neighborhoods in their path. But if the fire spreads into the city proper could just all of the flammable materials from inside the city give it enough energy to spread on it's own or will it snuff it's self out as there will be no more wood mass to burn?

So something like this happened in the late 80s of Montana. The fire raged so bad that bones were charred from livestock, even seeds that thrived in fires were burnt, there's entire sections of montana that look cursed because there is absolutely no growth from how bad it got.
The reason for this is they didn't do controlled burns, hollywood elites had summerhomes in the mountains and didn't have dedicated gardeners to keep it clean. 5 years of leaf litter build up can easily get to 5 feet tall, 10 in some areas, so it produced so much fuel that made the fire so hot it was a raging infirno for almost 3 solid years.

California has imported basically napalm trees that thrive on fires, on top of being a more desert-type environment. They haven't done controlled burns.
This may unironically be too much to stop if it's just STARTING in LA and they can't do anything about it.

I agree with this sentiment. I am like, close enough to LA to actually be worried about the fires, but its really fucking hard to feel bad about it. There are good people here, but as a collective we are essentially the modern day Sodom and Gammorah.
