Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

I thought you fuckers were joking about there literally being no water in the street hydrants! This shit was totally fucking planned. There's no way all of these retarded problems could have happened all at once unless it was planned. No way.
Hanlon's razor “Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence”

I'm optimistic things are gonna be fine where I'm at. But yeah, you the air quality is getting bad.

I'm concerned but I don't think my town will turn into an inferno lol.

If the fire swoops through, I'll try to snap a few pictures before I die with my boots on. My animals are my whole life, people are gonna have to drag me away kicking and screaming before I evacuate. If they die, I'll die with them. :story:
Do you have anyone nearby who would help you transport your animals if it starts looking bad? If you have options you owe it to them to get them out in such a situation if you are able. I hope you're able to ride this out if there is no such option.

Fuck me, that looks big.

Do people up there not backburn during off seasons (winter) to reduce the fuel load? Or would it do absolutely nothing?
Dipshit environmentalists and the politicians that enable them have made it virtually illegal to do so, despite it being objectively beneficial for the environment.

Los Angeles isn't that bad of a city, it has its place in American culture and history, same with New York. Even San Diego I have a soft spot for, and they literally border Mexico lol.

The real bad cities are San Francisco and Portland, though. Those two are utterly irredeemable.
It says a lot that your defense of L.A. is that it isn't SF or Portland. "Don't like being raped with a sharp stick? At least you're not being murdered!"

are these places still going to be on the map by the end of the week

So since nothing can or will be done at this point for California Kiwis in LA, I actually now reccomend Prayer. And there is truly a perfect one for this very situation.

Psalm 102

The prayer of one afflicted and wasting away whose anguish is poured out before the LORD.

LORD, hear my prayer; let my cry come to you.

Do not hide your face from mein the day of my distress.Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.

For my days vanish like smoke; my bones burn away as in a furnace.

My heart is withered, dried up like grass, too wasted to eat my food.

From my loud groaning I become just skin and bones.

I am like a desert owl, like an owl among the ruins.

I lie awake and moan, like a lone sparrow on the roof.

All day long my enemies taunt me; in their rage, they make my name a curse.

I eat ashes like bread, mingle my drink with tears.

Because of your furious wrath, you lifted me up just to cast me down.

My days are like a lengthening shadow; I wither like the grass.

But you, LORD, are enthroned forever; your renown is for all generations.

You will again show mercy to Zion. now is the time for pity; the appointed time has come.

Its stones are dear to your servants; its dust moves them to pity.

The nations shall fear your name, LORD, all the kings of the earth, your glory,

Once the LORD has rebuilt Zion and appeared in glory,

Heeding the plea of the lowly, not scorning their prayer.

Let this be written for the next generation, for a people not yet born, that they may praise the LORD:

“The LORD looked down from the holy heights, viewed the earth from heaven,

To attend to the groaning of the prisoners, to release those doomed to die.”

Then the LORD’s name will be declared on Zion, his praise in Jerusalem,

When peoples and kingdoms gather to serve the LORD.

He has shattered my strength in mid-course, has cut short my days.

I plead, O my God, do not take me in the midst of my days. Your years last through all generations.

Of old you laid the earth’s foundations; the heavens are the work of your hands.

They perish, but you remain; they all wear out like a garment; Like clothing you change them and they are changed,

But you are the same, your years have no end.

May the children of your servants live on; may their descendants live in your presence.

Fucking retards who worship the noble savage myth refuse the part where natives would practice land management with fire.

I've lived in a lot of states, including California, and people in middle America are just as fucking dumb in their own way. The US is spiraling down the drain.
