People are lighting fires in otherwise non-burning urban areas of LA. Saw this happen first hand at 302 Pico in Santa Monica. Called it in & fire dept & police responded. Stay safe and call in any activity ASAP. We don’t need more flames out here.

If you paid any attention to LA & California's retarded policies and choices you'd realize this was both completely avoidable and 100% self inflicted even as they are trying to shift blame to anyone that isn't them their retarded agendas.

LA with SF effective run the state because state representation in both houses is based solely on population and not geography.
That is, they have a house and a senate but its not like every county only gets two sentators. Both are distributed by population so the urban bugmen run the show.

I think an important part is being missed, and while @JosephStalin touched on it, I will in further detail:

The voters repeatedly voted in favor of things that would reduce the odds of wildfires. They voted overwhelmingly to make new resevoirs, to do brush clearance, to set up new methods to get water out east, and to bulk up the fire services. They voted the exact way one should if they want to reduce fires. It was their elected officials going back on their promises and completely failing them at every fundamental level that led to this crisis - refusing to open up the waterways, refusing to dig new wells and resevoirs, refusing to do brush clearance, and focusing on DEI bullshit because what really matters in a crisis is that your fire departments have LGBTABCDEHIJKMNOPQRSUVWXYZ representation. The politicians are the ones who let NIMBY-ism and Environmental groups take precedent over actual fucking infrastructure and genuine state need.

The way California's political apparatus is set up, opposition candidates within the left can't even get on the fucking ballot, let alone actual fucking conservatives thanks to horseshit like the "Jungle" runoff system. California's been monoparty rule since the 1980s, and has actively done everything possible from the top down to prevent that paradigm from ever being shifted. The state will manufacture any falsehood, make any claim, kill fucking *anyone* to ensure that absolutely no one can change the balance of power back in a rightward direction. If you don't think that state is more fortified than a campaign map in Command and Conquer, you haven't been paying attention for the last few years.

In short: It is California's entrenched political apparatus that caused all of this. They failed their state at every fucking turn in their arrogance.

This is my issue with people gleeful or saying that these people are rich and can rebuild.
Yes they can rebuild, even easily, but nothing replaces the memories of a home lost to disaster, trust me.
This shit effects people emotionally even after they rebuild

Your facts on the situation are completely correct, but your analysis is wrong because it fails to account for two things:
1) It is still legal to buy rope in California.
2) The political aparatus that fucks the state still exists.

Don't forget that Californians voted against fag marriage by a good margin, the elected officials said "no fuck that normalize faggotry", and yet not a single lamppost was decorated.

I understand that is a shitpost, but there is in-n-out in Austin. There also also homeless camping and taking over downtown sidewalks & stealing packages. Its a literal california colony.
