Speaking of when it comes to mocap I do think of stuff like Saints Row 3 and 4 where Troy Baker and Laura Bailey were literally the default looks you could edit. Also it's why I never played the Infamous sequel and it's dlc. Its bad enough to hear them in everything but now the lead character looks like him/her?! It is distracting and annoying.

I don't use Steam much but don't those tags have to be manually added, either by devs or players? The point being, even if this wasn't a flawed argument already, it's junk data because it relies on an opt-in system (and there's nothing stopping you from adding tags that don't actually apply to skew data/target certain groups).
It's like using attendees at a UFO abduction convention to gauge how many people in the country believe in aliens.
