Californians and their leftist liberal governments have been preaching about climate change for decades, yet other than telling others what to do, look what they achieved themselves? Nothing.

Where is their great preparation for climate change? Nowhere to be found. Only telling others what to do, not living by their own creed.
The wildfire was to be expected, the infrastructure supposed to be ready to fight it is non-existent.

Great job Tardifornians.

That’s not the situation in California. And everybody has known it for years. And everybody has pointed it out for years. And in the face of that, the people in California generally acted the same. And now that risk has manifested in a horrible way. It’s not glee to point this out.
I think it's more about the California arrogance claiming they're the bestest at environmentalism, and social organization, while sneering at the hicks that actually go out in the woods, and manage the environment.

If the LA mayor really believed in the Climate Change nonsense she wouldn't have just cut the fire budget by $17 million. They'd be increasing it.

Imagine moral fagging over people who want to see you removed from polite society because you visit a website like this that allows you to say nigger, tranny, faggot, etc etc.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I have no sympathy for any moron who's still in Cali at this point when it was clear as fucking crystal this mismanagement was going to eventually bite them in the ass.

They made this bed, now they can get fucked in it, and I'll be here laughing the entire time at their misfortune for refusing to take off the rose colored glasses.

That's because the people who truly believe this "original sin" of human estrangement from nature also believe that there is no way back without a living sacrifice of the "unworthy"--that "Nature, red in tooth and claw" and all the creatures across the face of the planet have a moral superiority over humans.
The bolded is a belief that I very much understand even if I don't exactly agree. Human beings have the ability to consider their actions and the likely consequences of those actions, and yet so much of the chaos we cause is related to incredibly short-term thinking. (Take the depletion of minerals in soil. Completely avoidable through better farming practices, but we make little effort to avoid it.) It's shameful, and it could have disastrous consequences for all life on Earth. We are the only species in a position to be shepherds for the only life, as far as we know, in existence. That comes with a responsibility we are frankly not living up to the way we should. The rest of life on Earth is, in a strange sense, morally better than us because they don't have the capacity to sin in that way.

But I know that, if evolution had gone another way, whatever creature ruled the Earth instead of humans would be doing the same shit. Non-human life is innocent in the way baby Hitler was innocent. This is a complicated problem with no easy solutions, maybe no solutions at all.
Probably “we can’t afford any of this shit and will go insolvent so what do you want?” Followed by a big wildfire exclusion due to being in CA.
You'll have to forgive the quoted poster. We've been conditioned by bullshit law like Obamacare not to even understand the basic definition of insurance or how it works.

I wonder what excuses the insurance companies will use so they don't have to pay out for this disaster?
They’re not covering wildfire damage. What, you didn’t get the email? Sucks to be you paying insurance.

That’s literally what they’ve all done. None of them will pay out because they cancelled fire coverage.

In total how much has been lost as of now?
Hard to say since everything hasn't been evaluated, but just to give an estimate:

These are the zillow listings of homes around the area, averaging about 3 quarter million per condo and around 5-6 million per home, some of them going into the 20+ million for the mansions in the mountainous regions. 300 structures were destroyed just in that area. So if you average each structure as a 5 million dollar home, that's over 1.5 billion dollars in property alone, and that's just the buildings themselves. And that's just in the Palisades area. And it's still at a 0 percent containment for Palisades, Sunset and Eaton fire. If LA was in trouble with funding from taxes before, they're going to be absolutely fucked for a long time.

As for the death toll, I have no idea and I don't think anyone does at the moment. I refuse to believe that there are only 5 deaths so far, that number probably came from 5 people being documented on fire and burning to death. There has to be a large amount of missing persons cases right now.

I can. It’s mostly rich (but not insane celebrity) rich areas. Doubt there are many hobos allowed to sleep in those areas.

The real count begins if the fire touches real downtown LA.

I think most people understand that climate change is very real, the issue is that the loudest preachers are hypocrites who expect someone else to solve the issue for them, instead of contributing.

Normal people expect local government to do it, local governments expect state government to do it, state government expect federal government to do, and federal government is in the pocket of big industry families who don't want any of that green garbage.

The mayor of LA should be tried for manslaughter for cutting the fire fighting budget.
