Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

Most of the girls chris sidles up to arent very hot. Not total shitpiles and definitely out of his league, but kind of plain at best. Was emily hot? I know she wasnt a girl he met really, but i just wonder how far out of his league she was.
The rumor is she was.

Yes. For now.
So he's disproportionate as usual,

Can someone answer this newbie question for me...
What is the Richmond apartment? Did Bob live separate from Barb for awhile?

What was their relationship toward the end like? In my mind, it just seems like 3 prisoners occasionally interacting, but mainly trapped in the cells of their own minds creation.
Chris was in denial about Bob dying.

Interestingly, Bob and Barb slept in separate rooms for many years, yet after Bob died Chris and Barb slept in the same room.

So assuming that the spooning took place before the alleged hooker, then doesn't that make Chris's statement about being a virgin with rage kind of moot?

He would spoon with her even when bob was alive. Bob did not like this as I remember.
IIRC, Barb would come into Chris' room to watch TV with him on the couch, and they would later end up cuddling. Bob would pass by and see this and become furious.

I think that in the last few years of his life, Bob wasn't all that into Barb. She messed up his house and his shed with her hoard, she didn't cook for him, and she seemed to be a general pain in the keyster. The separate rooms thing is evidence for this line of thinking.
I have always assumed that he stayed with her because he was old and leaving her might be more trouble than it is worth, and because of Chris, who he thought needed help/ass-kicking Barb couldn't/wouldn't give him. He may have also thought that leaving Barb might just tip her over the ledge. I have a fair bit of respect for him based on that.

is this just creepiness or does anyone legit suspect something worse?

Well, it's definitely creepy. Is anything more going on? No one knows, but yes, suspicions (albeit completely unsubstantiated) are there. I think it all boils down to "The Chandler Factor"... in that something could be normal or slightly off for any normal person, but when you factor in that it's Chris/Barb/Bob/Cole doing it... the odds of it being fucked up increase a thousandfold. In Chris's world, you never know when the next nugget of insanity will come from, so spectators have learned to not rule anything out.

I'll throw this out there, purely from my own perspective: I don't think Chris or Barb engaged in incest during Bob's time. The creepy spooning was just creepy spooning. Barb hadn't had a reliable male presence in her life since she and Bob stopped sleeping together a decade earlier. Chris became her emotional substitute, which is icky, but at least they kept their clothes on.

Now... honestly, there's no way to tell, but I wouldn't be surprised. Barb is an emotional trainwreck that's only enhanced by senility, Chris has an unhealthy fixation on his mother and no real concept of incest and the taboos associated with it. IMO, the only thing STOPPING the two of them from crossing that line is Barb's ill health and supposed lack of interest in sex. I'm sure "We shouldn't do that because it's wrong" is a ship that sailed a long fucking time ago.

Again, that's purely my own view.

(Edit: Just saw Marvin's post. Guess I'm a retard. Cool.)

Is it wrong for a mom to spoon with a 7 year old? I assume thats how she views her son.

Oddly enough, compared to all his other antics it sort of slightly warms my heart. As gross and selfish as they both are at least they have some small place in their heart for human affection.

It's like the phrase, "Bickering like an old married couple." This just happens with a lot of old couples. There's no evidence Bob and Barb didn't love each other to the end.

For example one set of my grandparents slept in separate rooms so that my grandmother wouldn't disturb my grandfather's sleeping schedule, so my grandfather wouldn't bother my grandmother with his snoring, etc., and it's not like they were
fucking
so whatever. They got in bad arguments sometimes like any married couple does but they still loved each other and my grandmother was very bereaved when my grandfather died.

Yeah, but your grandparents were apparently together for a long time, and they cared about each other. Although we can't say for sure that Borb weren't nuts for each other, what we do know doesn't paint a romantic picture. They met at a bar and bonded over a mutual love of alcohol and cheap thrills. Bob needed a housekeeper and Barb needed a meal ticket. When Chris came along, the strain of raising him pushed the two apart, as they both had past issues raising children and neither really found the other's methods acceptable. The only thing they seemed to find any common ground on was finding ways to shut Chris up so they could go back to being senior citizens for a few minutes.

Bob and Barb weren't "The Notebook". At best, they were the funny papers.

This is just creepiness, no one who isn't a exceptional individual suspects anything worse.
This is a sick subject, so imma drop it after this. Given that he wore her underwear and i think its safe to assume that was a sex fetish thing, is it possible he enjoyed snuggling more than he should have even if it didnt cross from creepy into shakspearean?

I think the underwear picture may have been something Blanca requested. It was found when Chris' email was hacked.

Yeah, but he let slip in a conversation where he was complaining about having to do the photo that he had also done it before, years prior, on his own volition.
