I have been told that the insurance companies actually began to pull out of LA and literally cancel their policies to people last year. Something about the CA Gov not allowing them to charge above a certain price and the companies deciding the price they were allowed too was too little to be worth the risk?

the main issue with property insurance is that its there for 1 in 100 year or 1 in 500 year events. in places like FL and CA where those events are now happening with alarming frequency its not longer affordable, and "insurance" stops becoming insurance but prepaid savings for replacing your home.

Not to powerlevel but I work with people who are working on the Sites project, various Delta initiatives, the Friant-Kern Canal rehabilitation, Oroville Dam, and the Klamath Dam removal, among other issues. I know people who have worked on firebreaks in LA County. I even know people working on high speed rail.

There are genuine infrastructure challenges in this state, but hearing some dude who would be hard pressed to navigate between Sacramento and LA bloviate about water management in this state is just not where it's at for me today.
