Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

BTW is you're in So-Cal and planning to move don't go to Arizona, Texas or anywhere in the SW area, its all gonna be the same disaster zone when water scarcity becomes "the new normal" and all property there becomes worthless.

Florida is sinking, you already have buildings in Miami sinking three inches per year, you're jumping from the pan into a fryer.

Unironically sounds like something a plebbitor from gamingcirclejerk would write...
...yeah! definitely dont come to the SW! it will be terrible!!

Those niggas better up their game if they want to compete for donations to their gofundmes. Maybe add some story about harrowing escapes, have the ladies wear low cut tops. Demand is very much outweighing supply.

Scammers are gonna make a fortune off this. I'd love to know a rough % of the number of scam (or at least misleading/embellished/etc) GFMs vs legit.

My man, this whole affair could be run by the best damn firefighters in the world and without water and with the current wind conditions shit would be still be fucked. Hell, even with water things would be almost impossible on account of the weather and the sheer mass of available fuel. We're both from SoCal, so I don't think either of us need to be reminded of how the wind likes to start blowing hard though those canyons and passes. And if fires like to do anything, its make the wind blow from all that air convection.
All I'm saying is while you can never reduce your risk to 0; cleanups and caretaking along with not letting the homeless and illegals run rampant would do a lot of the work. Instead we have overgrowth and failing infrastructure, and while I'm not saying this is contributing; but hearing that fire hydrants are straight up being stolen for scrap, is just another nail in the coffin of mismanagement. You get the top ranked fire-fighters and yeah the weather will make it a hard battle; but throw in the decision makers doing everything they can to make it more difficult and I'm gonna shoot their traitorous ass first. I'd be willing to set differences aside to focus on the immediate problem (the fire); but decades of these retards huffing their own farts about how much better they are, nah, they get the bullet, then we can put out the fires.

Ok well I woke up and my house is still here and I still have power so it’s time to get to work. Mister Gopher Snakes spent all night delivering or helping people get their generators working.

I’ve been up since the dawn checking on all my people. Due to choices I have made, I am in a much more advantageous position than many people in my community. Lots of families with young children, older people with health problems, pregnant women, and single people out here while their families are back east somewhere all without power or reliable access to fuel. Schools are all cancelled and everyone is heading here with tons of food to cook and prepare. Kids will have a working toilet, room to run around, and fresh food while their parents make calls and work remotely if they can. All the pets are coming so it’ll be a real menagerie around here, for my more autistic Kiwibros who care deeply about that sort of thing. Once the wimmin and children get here and start cooking, it’ll be time to start delivering food and checking on all our Olds who can’t get out here.

Everyone in the whole nation might be celebrating the imminent collapse of our state but I’m sure as shit not going to get caught on Judgement Day standing accused of allowing my fellow man to suffer while I sat pretty.

All us CaliKiwis like to claim we are better than the rest of our state so get the fuck out there and do something to prove it today.
Adding to this -

For all you guys hating on CA and it's inhabitants, I would like to tell you that I just contacted the Pasadena Humane Society to see if I could take a lil drive and help by fostering - they recently reached out across social media saying they needed placement for large dogs in particular. Instead, they told me that they had an immediate, overwhelming outpouring of help from across the state and all the local shelters have had the displaced animals fostered out already. No need for more volunteers because Californians turned out in droves to help furry friends, yes, but also each other.

We're not all West Coast Elite stereotypes. An awful lot of us are folks whose families have lived here for generations and love the rugged beauty and yeah, even the people. I dunno. I'm proud of our response, and am off to find some different way I can help.

Oregon, Idaho and Washington are all full. Don't bother with the PNW either.
Oregon is going to become a desert, the coast might be safe tho.
...yeah! definitely dont come to the SW! it will be terrible!!
Jokes aside it will, if you're there consider moving out too, land prices will likely crater even more specially in NZ.

I recall someone telling me NV might be safe because of Las Vegas but as gambling worldwide is moving online that might not be the case. Worst case scenario the entire SW might become a western empty quarter by the end of the century, best case it just becomes a backwater with 1/20th of the current population.

Either way I wouldn't hang around. The bright side if you are right-wing is that the masses of climate refugees are almost guaranteed to trigger a mass pendulum swift to nationalism.

Yeah I'm with you that things never, ever should have gotten to this state to begin with. Frankly we should count ourselves fortunate that Bass is out of the picture and unable to (incompetently) micromanage to try and look like she's doing something useful. Its not like Newsom's presence is helping matters, after all.

Lesbian Fire Cheif just admitted in federal press conference that there is no water in the hydrants

What happened to North Carolina?
You miss out on the floods and shit; towns wiped out, FEMA giving direct orders to not offer assistance to houses with Trump signs out front?

I recall someone telling me NV might be safe because of Las Vegas but as gambling worldwide is moving online that might not be the case.
They're wrong; Nevada has three big cities (Carson, Vegas, Reno), and despite not being the capital, the way Vegas goes, so does the state. It's also one of the shortest trips for the people fleeing California to go to. They're not moving and changing their views, they're moving and bringing their shit with them. Not to mention, all the illegal labor the casinos use.
