Moist likely they restrict themselves because firearms are a human invention with a history of atrocities behind them and thus seen as "sinner weaponry, angels using those are just a step above the sinners"

Or Chadam sees guns as for the weak & mentally fragile because you miss out on the intimate connection you would have from seeing a sinner's life go out after spearing them.

There are many ways to spin their restriction to melee only but Vivzie clearly isn't thinking that far.
Or maybe Adam just had this thought process when it came to guns and blades.

The one thing Viv does well is outfit and character design, even if some share some traits, and that's probably because it's a cost saving measure. If Viv applied her designs and fluid animations to a competent writer, she'd actually make a really good show.
The outfits aren't actually that great. Almost every male wears some sort of suit, while the females are only slightly better since half of them are in their 2010s scene phase.

Here's a possible answer that I know isn't true because Viv definitely didn't put this much thought into it.

Angels are very old, Adam for example, and thus probably never really got the chance to get used to new weaponry. Plus anyone in weapons dealing and manufacturing probably goes to hell while blacksmiths of the olden days likely went to heaven assuming they otherwise didn't lead very sinful lives.

On the other side of the coin you've got the demons, which have so many people coming in yearly that they regularly cull them just to keep the place functional. All the old sinner type demons are probably long dead while the steady influx of new sinners means a lot of technology and skills from the modern era carry over.

I saw this ask and response randomly on tumblr about shipping discourse, and it made me think a little about Hazbin and Helluva.
"with regards to shipping discourse, I do find it sort of crazy how much people care about it, and I say that as someone who's primary involvement in fan spaces is writing ship fanfic.
I mean, I write GIJoe fanfic (a fact that I do find embarassing, although, not enough to not tell people about it), and if all of a sudden people who called themselves GI Joe fans were arguing about ships I'd be so confused. It is a series with so little romance, and such a large focus on team work, that even my ship fanfics are still very much ensemble pieces with barely any "romance." it's more just characters admitting (to themselves) they have special feelings but that there's no real time to deal with it yet.

It's one thing with romance and drama stories where the interpersonal relationships is the draw of the story, but even then, a good story is going to have more to it than the shipping. I'm in a Jane Austen circle on Tumblr and so you'd think that it would be all about the romance, but often times the discussions are about the historical context or the familiar and platonic relationships (so, for instance, how it's interesting that Mr Darcy is seen as "intimidating" but in a rather sexless way. No one worries that he might hurt or take advantage of a girl, but only that he might be cutting with his words. How does this compare with other romantic figures or antagonists in this story?) Perhaps Jane Austen is a bad example she is such an influential author and there is a lot to talk about with her books.

Basically, to me, if a series' only draw is the shipping... that's just says that it's not a very good thing to start out with. Like, the fact that I dropped Legend of Korra because my ship broke up speaks to the fact the show had nothing else going for me. So it is kind of insulting if shipping is all people can talk about. Reducing every relationship in a series to a romantic one is so annoying it me. IDK.

It's sort of funny because part of what I liked about Arcane was the fact that the main motivations for each character often had more to do with familial love or striving for ideals. and second season all people want to do is talk about shipping... how the mighty have fallen."

"Yeah I’m a bit hyperbolically harsh to shippers, but in its place—silly things like the “who would win” debates—shipping’s fine. I’m not entirely immune to “these two characters would make a cute couple” myself. But the ubiquity and in-your-face nature of it in certain fandom spaces (like Tumblr) is incredibly off-putting and obnoxious."
What really sticks out to me is the bit that says, "If the only draw of a story is shipping, then that's not really a good thing." Think about how many ships/romantic relationships are shoved into both series, whether it has an impact on the plot (Stolitz) or is an absolute nothingburger (Cherrisnake). I think it's really solidifying just how badly Viv fucked things up by making her awful romances front and center, glaringly so in the case of Helluva Boss. If she did get tired of Stolitz and Fizzarozzi or whatever and had them break up, then what else is there? Since the assassin premise got left on the side of the road and it looks like a lot of fans don't give a shit about Octavia...that's it. It feels a lot like she just takes fan favorite ships and stuffs them in there to get some cheap heartwarming or emotional scenes that'll get the fangirls bawling and posting screenshots to Twitter, and as a substitute for writing something actually compelling. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if she did decide to go ahead and make Radioapple canon.

Either way Stolas literally almost died because one random imp lassoed him with an MCU tier plot device angel rope. Would alastor lose to angel rope? Depends on how smart you write him i guess.

Angel weapons completely broke the hazbinverse powerscale because you can legit write anybody killing anybody. No one is that impressive when you know they would die to one shiny knife stab wound.
Something i haven't seen discussed anywhere and it makes me think if i'm the only autist who's wondered about this:

What happened to the angelic rifle left behind by Striker after failling to kill Stolas in season 1? Why not bring that back for their fight against Andre, who can only be truly harmed and killed by such weapons? Had Octavia not intervened, all of them would've died. Do angelic weapons have a shelf life and stop being "blessed" after some time? Is the rifle itself "blessed" or just the bullets? Or is it both? If it's just the rifle, can you fire any kind of ammo, and it'll come out as blessed anyways? If it's just the bullets and the appearance of the rifle is merely aestethic, did that rifle only have 1 bullet that time it was given to Striker? That's the only reason i can think of why they didn't brought it back, but since the series itself never bothered to answer these questions, this might as well just be a headcannon, which are worthless when talking about the series' plot.

Sure, there's redundancy, but if you show me any of those parts I can identify the character it's from, and you can probably do the same. I also think a lot of the redundancy is due to how many characters she crams in to everything. For example if you took Velvette, Luna, Stella, and Octavia from their show they all have very different outfit designs.

I understand what they say but the problem with this rationale is that sometimes speaks more about the shipper than the story.

Vivzie's case is not one of those tho, because she is definitely using ships as an engagement crutch, and those usually backfire longterm because there is no where to go with the story anymore. Korra, Star Vs Evil, RWBY, CW Arrow, Voltron, She-ra, Owl house etc. all of them had their legacy tarnished by pandering and are infamous for their shipping communities.

If it's true that they won't release more helluva boss shorts because it didnt get enough views then the show is already doomed. The normie viewers were alienated into quitting and the shippers left don't care about I.M.P.. If the yaoi stops the show dies. I have the feeling Helluva boss will not be remembered fondly after it ends.

Hazbin might survive solely on amazon forcing vivzie to write a semblance of plot but if she starts making dedicated yaoi episodes then it's joever.

I honestly don't think Amazon nor A24 give that much of a crap. A24 just cares of pumping out whatever "avangarde" stuff they can get their hands on (sometimes it pans out, other times its eyerolling and pretentious dreck), while Amazon mostly cares about numbers. One COULD make the argument that Amazon stepped in during S1 and only gave the team 8 Episodes for a season, BUT since the show did prove to be a money in the bank, we still apparently getting 8 eps in S2 and doesn't seem like Viv even tried to fight for more episodes.
I mean we know 100% that Season 2 is only getting 8 episodes since the ep names were leaked through the italian studio's website, which is just fucking sad. S1 already had horrible pacing and S2 will introduce more characters so giddyup for even more of a rollercoaster.

Besides why would Viv even try to fight for more episodes? She already had 3 or 4 seasons greenlit and you can bet she wants to extend that number since she knows people will still consume that slop.

I mean people have assumed that the people were underpaid and yet stans think "NUUU NUUU LEAKS! IT RUINS TEH HARD WORK OF THE ANIMATORS!@!!2222!!!112121111!" like did you ever think the leaks came from a underpaid animator? This just translates into "Viv worked really hard on it!"
The thing that's most funny to me is that the same artists urging people not to look at the leaks are the ones who have already seen them and are preparing fanart to be the first ones to release them.
But yes, the dogheadanimation thing was absolutely not a database breach, it wasn't a keylogger, and I doubt it was even social engineering. It was just an underpaid animator who was fucking sick of it and tried to make more money.

By the way:
NTSG, a famous Hazbin Hotel leaker who leaked tons of things regarding season 1 and had to sign an NDA with Amazon (while being in Russia, lol) said on his telegram that ALL episodes are colored, animated and finished. I don't believe it honestly.

Wasn't the reception for Hazbin itself lukewarm, if we're putting it nicely, so I wouldn't bet on those S3 and 4 happening if S2 gets the same reception or worst.

It was officially confirmed to be renewed for S3 and S4 on Prime Video. Unless they can back out of their contract which I doubt they will care enough to do they will do it.
EDIT: And that was during S1.

I mean, didn't we have the same story with Inside Job on Netflix? It did well in S1 and was renewed for S2, suddenly getting cancelled in the process?

That's a good thinking, probably that's it. Still, heaven would need to adapt to it, make bullets a "puny thing".

There's also this too. How does that make things? Does Heaven in Hazbin exist in an alternate dimension from Helluva? Same in vice versa? Does Pride ring not communicate with the rest of the other rings?

Imagine Adam going crazy with an angelic M249, riddling Fraudlastor, Charlie and Lucifuck with bullets, then stomp on Niffty. Job well done!

An then you ask, can like holy weapons even hurt someone like Lucifer? I mean, we got Adam and stuff, but let's be real Lucifer is a WHOLE different level. This guy is closer to the Gman than anyone else, so I doubt holy weapons can even put a dent on him. Maybe if it's like Michaels or Azriels weapon? Sure

That's a good point, maybe he should still stand as a fight. Hopefully "Mike" and "Gabe" will appear and put him in his place.
