Genuinely hilarious and an interesting combo of actual history and surrealist editing. He’ll talk 5-10 minutes about facts then say something completely absurd in the same matter of fact tone of voice. It always catches me off guard and makes me laugh.

Yeah he's not really a history guy but applies history to media reviews in a way that isn't smug or feeling homosexual. I think the guy is a Libertarian given the disdain for authoritarianism he has in his videos.
