I know this is a joke post but I'll respond seriously anyway because it's always good for people to learn things.

Nuking a hurricane way out at sea probably wouldn't affect anyone or anything in the grand scheme of things. The shockwave may, depending on yield, disrupt the low-pressure area of a hurricane. There's no guarantee it wouldn't strengthen back into a hurricane afterwards, though.

As for wildfires, nuking one would just make the situation way worse. Ignore the fallout or such, we can go straight to the part where nuclear weapons generate a huge amount of thermal radiation that sets a lot of shit on fire. The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki caused massive firestorms that, according to most accounts, did more destruction than the blasts.

Speaking of the homeless, I think LA is overlooking a valuable resource that could be tapping to fight the fire.

The city government should clear out the camps and have them all run headlong into the flames. I'm not really sure if that will help extinguish the flames, but I also don't know that it won't work. If any of unhoused persons- persons experiencing a lack of housing- whatever the fuck they're referred to as in LA now refuse their mission, just have someone throw their crack/meth/whatever into the blaze and dimes to dollars that one will be leading the charge.
