Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

did they speak english or spanish?
important question to separate wetbacks and bean boys born here
I'll take a brownish third generation Californian farm worker speaking Spanish over a white liberal arts student speaking English any day.

At least they can cook. And there's a 78% chance their brother-in-law is a plumber who takes cash.

>zoom beans
oh no
New slur just blasted from the past.

That is (was) a library for "Theosophy", a religion founded 150 years ago by a schizo named Helen Blavatsky who believed you can do magical seances to talk with dead people who can put you in touch to meet the Ascended Masters who can turn you into a god. It's really silly shit that's mostly a knockoff of Buddhism and Hinduism, with bits of ancient mythology thrown in. It's not much practiced anymore because most of the teachers in the religion used it for making money and started their own New Age cults instead. It's a really dumb religion, even if it's pretty harmless. No loss at all.
The Theosophists attract people still by running private schools that have really artsy curriculums, and huge budgets from private donors.
They look like great places to send your kids on paper.
There's one down the road from me; they are called "Steiner-Waldorf schools" or summat.
When my ma' was shopping around for a school to send me to, she tried to send me there, where we learned that they have negative views on single mothers (I mean, kinda based, ngl) and wouldn't accept students from families with only one parent, due to them having some sort of peculiar holistic mystic religious bent.
So whatever, sounded like I was on track for a free ride 'til that.
Anyway, I talked to two guys who had also worked there as security, particularly, this one big gentle black dude I knew from Brum; he noticed that they don't seem to discipline the kids or intervene in their interactions at all, and that this appears to be intentional.
So a lot of the kids will fight, or one that's attracted the ire of the rest will cop a kicking, and the teachers will basically just watch to make sure they aren't outright murdering one another, but otherwise do nothing.
Interesting place, overall.
Bit creepy, tbh.
My neighbor's missus went there though, and she's alright, pretty based for a hippy lady.

I know it may not seem like it but language plays an important part to how people integrate. A second generation beaner who knows only English is going to feel more at home than a second generation beaner that knows only Spanish. It affects who they interact with and what they watch. If America is going to keep its Beaners, since kicking them all out is all but impossible because most people are pussies and that would actually be hard, you'll want them speaking good old American English since you can't get the Mexican out their body.

Good thing kids are actually good at adapting, but with the current rate of unhalted illegals, you're going to have Mexican kids who grow up thinking they're still in Mexico.
or lord knows the horrors that lay even souther

I gather that the fires were started by three eucalyptus trees in a trench coat pretending to be a homeless Jew with a space laser.
Could be wrong though, there are conflicting reports.

Wait, I was wrong. It was three Jewish eucalyptus trees in a trench coat pretending to be a homeless Hispanic guy with a space laser.
Details are important.
It was just a prank, bro.

I guess it depends how you look at it.
I'm quite happy with someone who remembers their heritage, even if it's not mine, because it saves us all from falling into a pit of DisneyMcStarbucks globohomo omniculture.

Mind you, I quite like the OG Americans drinking scotch in a gutter outside the casino. At least they know how fucked things are.

In case you don't know, I'm English. Don't know if you've ever been there, but apparently you speak my language.

That's actually a bit depressing.

"At least they can cook" Anybody can put refried beans on a pan and slap some veggies on it. We need Americans becoming plumbers instead of Juan and his 50 cousins.
Edit: If you're British how have you not learned the lesson from the last 20 years of letting "slightly brown" foreigners into your country?

From LA Times:

Man arrested on suspicion of arson in Woodland Hills, police say
By Richard Winton and Clara Harter

Los Angeles police have taken a man into custody on suspicion of arson after a witness reported seeing him attempting to start a fire in the Woodland Hills area, an LAPD spokesperson said.

A caller reported a man attempting to light a fire in the 21700 block of Ybarra Road at 4:22 p.m.

LAPD Senior Lead Officer Charles Dinse told News Nation that the department believes the Kenneth fire was intentionally set. But police told The Times that they could not connect the suspect to the Kenneth fire at this time.

The investigation is ongoing, police said. The suspect was being held at the LAPD Topanga station.

True American food is, of course, the hamburger pizza apple pie peanut butter and jelly sandwich (?).

I did the proper British thing and fucked off overseas to spread tea, cricket, and cultural genocide. God help the poor bastards who stayed.

Purposely acting like the United States of America didn't create good food and should grovel towards south american slop that fattens you without the added seed oils or corn syrup is truly a choice, Abandoning one of the greatest countries to have ever existed for the paki and jeets to run to ruin is also A Choice. Best of luck.

In other news here's the xeet containing the video of civilians catching the KennethFire spic.

Idiocy. My local news station keeps saying that the cause of this fire is climate change.
Yes and no. There is no doubt at all the climate is drier and more dangerous because of Climate Change; but also other factors are in play because the area of naturally prone to it anyways. Fires will always happen there from the natural climate it was accustomed to; but the right fire at the right time is always a disaster waiting to happen.

In all honesty, officials knew one day the right fires would start as the winds and climate were ripe for a disaster and it was going to happen. It would be hypothetically possible to design infrastructure over the entire LA County to cope with multiples huge fires, but such an infrastructure project would probably cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 Billion. You'd have to build immense water reservoirs on hills and increase water pipe diameters to ridiculous proportions to supply every potential area with that much water. Mega pumps and etc.

The hydrants didn't run out at lower elevations, they did at higher elevations because the system could handle a couple of hydrants but not dozens of them pulling water - you'd need immense pipes and infrastructure to support it. Possible, but exceptionally costly.

Perhaps they just should not have built in some of these areas in the first place.
