I don't buy for a second that Zuckerberg or Apple or any of these companies are actually bending over for Trump. They've just realized gifting a million bucks and kissing his ass a bit works way better than anything else.
I call total bullshit on Facebook being forced to do anything and if they were forced then they liked it because vaccines are serious shit. How many times has shit come out at this point about Facebook fucking up moderation and causing all sorts of shit and I've still never seen them meaningfully punished for it.
And people sometimes forget that half the reason the world and politics is so fucked up today is purely as a result of Facebook being evil.

Regarding the whole Idaho banning gay marriage stuff, one of the things I find interesting is how quickly same sex marriage has become one of the stuff that's become practically taboo to question in such a short interval of time. I mean, it was not too long ago Obama was against gay marriage and California voted it down. Fast forward to present day, if someone says something as milquetoast as "I think gays should be treated with respect but marriage should be a union between a man and a woman." and you'll have people from both sides going, "you're a right wing extremist!" "Fascist!" "The next election will be a blue tsunami because of this rhetoric!" "Conservatives are trying to lose elections!" as if you just advocated for reinstating lynching.

There's no singular reason, it's a complicated formula of things.
In terms of this starting at Walmart, it was only ever a hollow attempt to shut their employees the fuck up after George Floyd died. Most of their employees are black or pajeet, they were looking at losing a portion of their workforce over it not to mention having the locations burnt the fuck down. By year three, more killings kept happening and it's not like they can shut it down then without seeing a backlash and losing confidence with stockholders. All of this is during a pandemic when they have their hands full with supply chain issues.
Over that time though, there has been public pressure from boycotts which, you know, surprisingly actually worked in response to this. Bud Light or Target is a good example. There's been quite a bit of legislative push, Florida universities have had all of their DEI university programs shut down by law. With a new president in the White House who has threatened tariffs as a means to get results and has openly stated he's going after DEI programs, they may be inclined to just shut it down and explain to the stockholders exactly why. They'll see a small dip in stock price maybe but it'll go back up without the Sword of Damocles hanging over their heads in terms of punitive measures taken by the new political leadership.

This is Facebook. 2 hours and 50 minutes of Zucc spilling his guts before Trump gets in. There's actually quite a bit in here he's saying. I've been listening on and off for around 50 minutes. Basically Zucc is saying the censorship wasn't the intent and it got way out of hand with the fact checkers due to the system, government pressure, all that shit. Joe is taking him to task pretty well.

This is nothing new, post modernism taught them that the only real good is power so anything that brings you power is good anything that takes away your power is bad. The rest is just mumbo jumbo that others use to try to restrict you. Talking about ethics and standards with a Proggie is pointless as he will just try to get you to stick to your ethical stance while he's free to pick and choose what he wants when he wants it.
So for a Proggie an actual ethics system is a handicap so they just dumped it. That's why they can do whiplash 180's in a second and still keep on thinking that their side is the moral one.

Google was definitely deliberately evil, I think Facebook was just greedy and indifferent. They were more then welcome to accept the funding and bribes to get the censorship in place, but once the censorship was in place and clearly making *everything* worse, they realized that they were in deep shit and were slowly trying to extricate themselves from the position they put themselves in. They still had to appease the liberal dictators because they were strongly adverse to the consequences, but they did their best to slowly become neutral in an environment where being neutral branded you as right wing Nazis. Now Trump is in power they probably intend to try to be fully neutral and professional, with an awareness of what their impacts are on culture.
I think Apple has intentionally been more neutral, trying to maintain an esthetic of being above the fads and whims of the commoners. That's especially shown by their choices in Apple TV shows, where every single one has been a banger hot that doesn't ham first current politics (except the few shows where that's literally the premise, but those may also be good but idk).

Apparently there was already a law passed by the legislatures that allow them to issue a moratorium on cancellations in emergencies so I suspect they'll argue that the companies who continued to do business in CA agreed to it by staying. I haven't seen anything else about retroactively reversing policy cancelations from months ago though, that's where the money is.

Even the ADL just said they are dropping the whole DEI shit and going back to protecting Jews, because when they thought the liberals would come to their aid (like they did them) they didn't. They've actually realized they're very likely to lose anti-discrimination lawsuits. There's a tiny bit of gray area in the Civil Rights Act when it comes to affirmative action, but they have blown way way past that into full-on instructing hiring managers not to hire white males, which is outright illegal.
