I love how California thinks they can just pass laws and make the insurance companies hand over their money. They can fuck right off. The only way State Farm, USAA, Farmers, Etc can hope to paper over enforced coverage of Californians in unmitigated fire zones at capped rates is to shovel the cost of premiums onto the rest of the country. Which ain't happening.

Makes better economic sense to just not do business in California. Let them pass as many laws as they want on companies that are not present within its jurisdiction
How are banks going to be affected by this? A lot of people's wealth is just their houses value and beyond that they're ass raped by credit card debt and living check to check. Is the money printer going to give one last heroic BRRRRR ?

My bet is celebs and other rich fags will lawyer up and will get compensations from insurance companies first, which will result in bankrupcies. Regular folk is going to be left be left with promises of support from the goverment, which will take years to actually fullfil.

They are doing a bunch of sympathy power shutdowns across so cal in areas nowhere near the fire area. No power or cell service for days. Fridges and freezers are thawing and people most of whom since they live in a shithole like much of the inland region aren't very rich are having to throw out entire stocks of food. Plus there is not much that you can do except hunker down in the dark with a flashlight and book. But they aren't going to get much help because unlike the LA people there isn't even a fire around. The funny thing is if you are in a shutdown area you can walk in any direction in some cases right next door and go into an area that has uninterrupted power. Yeah yeah increased risk and all that jazz. That could be understandable but the incompetents at the power company were unable to even make a proper and accurate outage website that would allow people to know if there was an outage in their area and what if any estimate there was for restoration. Whats the excuse for that?

There will be heads rolling. It'll just be the arsonist(s) they just coincidentally found.
He does not deserve the relatively quick death of beheading.

Public burning at the stake. If these arsonists love fire so much, let their final moments be intimate with fire.
Only have had one civilian death in any wildfire I have been on, which turned out to be the arsonist
I guess there is some justice in the world.

What are the chances that some kike paid an illegal to light a few properties on fire?
I mean, the fire started in 3 different places simultaneously. During the wet season.

Same as canadian ones started by "lightning" in five different places.....

//There's still going to be value in being that close to the sea and to Santa Monica/Los Angeles. But the land is likely heavily contaminated, and probably won't have utilities for a while (plastic pipes melted etc).//
Everything just gets bulldozed, pipes and other infra sub ground usually survives as it is burried 1m+ deep.

Buddy of mine is a plumber. He makes more than anyone else in my friend group. Always has a new van, the best tools and a nice house.
Man, not to PL too much but give a man a toolbox and a job to do and he'll be happy. It's literally a grown up's toybox. Nothing brings the inner autist out of a man better than a good toolbox. It's such a useful profession too. "Nobody wants to do it" or "Only migrants can do it" is a complete fucking lie.

For those are wondering why the state keeps voting the way that it does, the Greater Los Angeles Area has a population of ~18 million and the SF Bay area has ~17 million, not counting illegals. The entire rest of the state has about 4 million people. It's all because those highly condensed areas are not only full of dead-serious blue voters that actually think this was due to climate change and the answer to homelessness is 'just make more shitty houses'. Everywhere else gets no representation, however a lot of counties pretty much stopped giving a fuck about what the state says because they know that no one is steering the ship.
That's how Colorado has been functioning but, on a much smaller scale since the switch in 2004-2008. If you axed Denver and the Springs from the voting base, it would revert to its older Cowboy Red, "leave us the fuck alone" politics which had dominated the area since its admittance to the union. Do not visit that god-forsaken city if you ever find yourself in the centennial state.

The Democratic Party has been, slowly but surely, grooming the two previously mentioned cities into their new fall-back area once California becomes too uninhabitable. A lot of people who live in the Rockie's fucking despise all the Californian ex-pats who have been moving there and driving up the rent prices to astronomical levels. It also doesn't help that their worming into the governments has harmed the local nature due to them not knowing how the ecosystem fucking works. That's a point of major anger since the state's environment is its "soul" along with whatever is left of the silver mining operations. So anybody who says we love Californians is lying out of their ass and will get a Kill Dozer, courtesy of patron saint Marvin Heemeyer, to pulverize their house if they don't apologize for spreading lies.

The unfortunate thing about these Calfironian fires being in the richer-upper-class neighborhoods is that a new wave of inter-country immigrants will flood Eastward and ruin whatever place they decide to settle in.

My prayers go out to the firefighters, animals, and normal people who got caught up in this self-made disaster because the Californian government refused to do its job of improving the state's vital infrastructure, along with prioritizing petty politics over enacting meaningful policies. I hope my homeland doesn't end up as utterly insolvent, it's a fate I wouldn't wish on even my worst enemies.
