Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

I'm twitching thinking about the permitting process for over 10,000 structures.
Guess who isn't going to cut back on their union mandated breaks?
Well, there...is something that could be done, but California won't like it. A Municipality can be put under Federal control, with the consent of the California legislature. The precedent is of course civil war reconstruction. Where "Louisiana" gave the Feds control of New Orleans for years. Admittedly of course, the US Army administration of New Orleans was less about running the city and more about holding the South by the balls, but the legal precedent is there.

I also don't see Sacremento handing LA to Trump, so the aftermath of this is going to be a real mess. Most of those homes won't be rebuilt.

Palisades and Eaton both still barely contained.

Concerning Eaton: starting to seep into the city:

It can't be good that the "burn zone map" is starting to overlap with areas that are only on non-mandatory evacuation warnings instead of mandatory evacuation orders

My theory is he's going to blame the power company for killing power to the pumps supplying the hydrants. They did kill power to prevent more fires from being started by hot lines being broken by high winds (since that's why they were blamed last time) and none of the hydrant pumping stations had generators for whatever reason. Doesn't matter, Newsome's base are conditioned to blame the power company for fires.

He wouldn't be announcing an "independent" investigation if there wasn't a non-govt 3rd-party already set up to blame.
PG&E, theres a good example why keeping vegetation away from utilities is critical, but overlooked and like everything else, underfunded.

That's very fitting, makes me wish other sites would publicly identify who their most active participants are. The astroturfing and obvious fed shit I've seen all over the internet since the early 2010s has me convinced that information circulation was tainted beyond repair well before AI and other supposed misinformation engines came into use. Sucks to see an AI image of a fake burning Hollywood sign conjured by some shitposter, but its much worse to be led astray by the "688th Cyberspace Wing."

Shame that this also means Reddit is never going anywhere.
If we are led to believe that the US glowies are secretly controlling AI projects (THEY ARE) then they can easily contaminate their AI generated answers depending on the datasets they connect it to to train it. If we accept that Reddit is mainly CIA botfarms spewing BS and that Reddit has opened up their data for AI training (Reddit soars after announcing OpenAI deal that allows use of its data for training AI models) and that the average normie will implicitly believe the answers give them since "AI is supposed to be better than the average human (THANKS CIA CONTROLLED PEDOPHILE HOLLYWOOD)" then people are being attacked psychologically if they accept any answer that these public AI projects give them any given topic. We cannot trust anything they give if any dataset they're trained on is potentially tainted by botfarms.

Off topic, but this would mean Elon Musk is controlled by the glowies.

On topic, even with Newsome out. If Cali hasn't learned its lesson from other fires then its unlikely the incoming politian is going too be able to do any better. Like better funding for fire crews? Not going to happen. Remember in this day, helping the public through tax money (which funds fire crews) is considered woke.

As I understand it, part of the "problem" in the state is that the USFS and CALFIRE have some areas of disagreement.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't USFS bivy next to their trucks and eat MREs while CALFIRE stays in hotels and eats at restaurants?

(Bless our firefighters and I hope they all stay safe but I wonder what percent of a CALFIRE "workday" is spent driving to and from the actual fire. I feel like a 12-man tent from Cabela's would pay for itself in a week.)

So it's not just a funding issue, it's a culture issue.

Don't know if this has been shared yet but it looks like a bunch of aspiring rappers are doing what they do best.
So I hate misinformation and I’ve seen this going around ALOT. The second video is not looting. There was a local tv station doing a news segment on a woman moving out. Let me see if I can find the original broadcast.

Not accusing you op, you didn’t know I’m sure, but these people are a brothers to a lady that lives in the fire area and helping her move. I’ll edit it in when I find it.

Edit: here is the Original broadcast, but it’s like 6-7 hrs long,

Here’s a community note citing this broadcast

Here’s an Insta post (community note that leads to a post) cause nobody gonna comb thru 6 hrs of news to prove someone they don’t know stole from someone they don’t care about

He wouldn't be announcing an "independent" investigation and such a narrow scope if there wasn't a non-govt 3rd-party already set up to blame.
None of that explains why these pumps wouldn't have generator backup

I live in a hurricane prone coastal area and all of our pumps to move flood waters have on site generators

I don’t want relief from FEMA pulled from Appalachia for this fire. Jesus fuck it’s like the government WANTS everyone to hate us.

I really hope that any aid California does get is gift-wrapped in orders to comply with ICE.
I think they just want us to legimatelly revolt at this point, so they just say fuck it and take over totally. The only thing that isn't happening is that, because they've burned everyone's brain to a crisp with fluoride and social media.

Buddy of mine is a plumber. He makes more than anyone else in my friend group. Always has a new van, the best tools and a nice house.
What is sad is they get paid less than Electricians and Electricians are assholes who leave trash all over the place. Though they tend to leave lots of yummy copper around for scumbags like me to scoop up so they've got that going for them.

This is California where internal combustion engines are going to cause problems. Emissions, noise, name it, they probably aren't allowed.

>At the musuem [sic] of tolerance this(peace time troops on the ground in your country) is one of the warning signs of genocide/fascism.
That museum, and therefore that stupid fucking "Early warning signs of fascism" poster, is *in LA*. We were *this* close to that midwit talisman being purged from the earthly domain, setting us unalterably on the path to world utopia as the life force of redditors blinks out of their bodies upon its destruction, and they crumble back into the dust from which they were made. Fuck's sake.

Yes and no. This depends on the fire situation and location. Ive seen the fed boys stay in hotels and bivy. Ive done both too. I'll accept both, to be honest. Im not the guy too complain about eating a restaurant meal vs an MRE.
The issue that I have seen and experienced is when USFS steps in to assume Incident Command from the state. USFS do things their way, different than at state level. This is when miscommunication and logistics issues become a problem. These can lead to failures in operation and command that the public sees and starts looking for blame.

Al Jazeera is a reminder of how subversive the Qatari government is.

Given these lot funded the HTS headchoppers in Syria and gave them positive PR.
Didn't Dubya wanted to bomb those Al Jazeera journos like 20 years ago but Tony Blair talked him out of it? Like we were so close to something good happening caused by those two numbnuts.
