Well, let's see....
1. Turns out that days before the fire started, LA's Mayor had actually demanded an additional 48 million be cut from the Firefighting budget.
2. Pacific Palisades' 117,000,000-gallon reservoir was empty and offline when the firestorm hit, because it's been waiting for repairs.
The repair it needs? A new cover. Which it needs for EPA regulations.
3. A dude who brought his own food truck to provide free food to the firefighters was chased off by California's Department of Health for not having a permit.
4. Santa Monica's law enforcement showed where their priorities lay by issuing tickets during the crisis.
5. Governor Shithead is demanding Social Media companies crack down on misinformation because his administration looks like a fucking clownshow.
6. Biden has announced that his administration will completely reimburse California for the reconstruction efforts, while areas hit by the last batch of hurricanes are still suffering with barely any assistance. Because fuck red states, apparently.
That's just the last 24 hours.

Possible but unlikely. There is less to burn in the urban core. There might be some at the edge that get gutted internally by fires.

There's probably a difference between "lost their home (and possibly job) in a fire, but with support could get back on their feet" and "will stab a granny to get meth".
Although I do wonder if the evacuation shelters are differentiating between the former and the latter. I guess a lot of LA's "unhoused population" could turn up at those places and cause trouble.

The 11 dead number is bs. The end of the article about the man with cerebral palsy stated that he wasn’t included in the count because his body wasn’t found. I’ve seen at least five burned-to-a-crisp skeletons just from videos in this thread. Emergency services are overwhelmed by the fire, rightfully prioritizing what they can save rather than what was lost. Once the ashes have settled, that number is going to increase significantly.
