Phone backgrounds should cost money? Has this person ever talked to anyone who owns a phone before? I have literally never heard anyone ever saying they paid for a phone background. I remember pretty distinctly a few months ago people getting incredibly pissed off when someone (mkbhd) did actually charge for phone wallpapers.

In an economy with ever-increasing cost-of-living, and with almost naught but breathing and sunshine are free, those people think even desktop wallpapers should cost money.
And rather than use AI art generation or pay some freakish copyright fanatic artist, I usually use a wallpaper I made myself instead.

I'm using Google image a lot, searching for stuff for tracing or meme edits. It's been working fine and my laziness resulted in me relying on my browsing history and simply jumping through layers of related images to find the interesting one I remembed stumbling upon before. For some fucking reason, yesterday instead of picking up from where I left, search was flooding me for tons and tons of AI generated garbage. It was an uncanny feeling - imagine you stop at a sleepy fishing village to refuel, eat something and pass the night. Everything seems OK at first, but you can't help but notice weird irregularities in architecture and most distressingly, people. Then you realize you're in Innsmouth and the walls already began to close on you. This is how it felt when it dawned on me that ALL the shit I've been browsing through, and like Gandalf I had no memory of this place, is utterly useless AI slop. All of my mental archives ruined, it's so bad I had to restrict my searches to specific sites, which kinda defeats the very purpose of Google image.
What was supposed to be a quick 15 minute find/download/edit before going to bed, turned a desperate journey up to 3 past midnight through the ruins of R'lyeh, going dizzy and exhausted from having to look at the non-Euclidean geometry people who look human, but are not human. Thanks to the nigger who will not be spared when the revolution comes, my sleep deprivation streak got extended by yet another goddamn day, I'm late with my work, delirious and fucking don't even know what I'm writing about anymore.

My favourite part about AI shit is that it really shows how absolute dogshit google as a service is. Yea google images is shit for the reasons you say, but regular search is the exact same. But now I can point at it. I don't need to try and explain to some retard that I don't want fucking temu store page results or buzzfeed tier content farm copy paste articles. No one understands what you mean when you say that google search is dogshit now, but you can show them an image search and have a perfect visualisation of what using google for the past decade has felt like.

The problem is, they still think it's the Renaissance where all these artists get patrons left and right then become rich.
No Medici is probably gonna want their uwu kawaii anime girls with the same face and dress in a very generic style in their circle. No Pope is going to want them to paint the ceilings of their chapels because of their gender and overall history plus possible poor work ethic.
They're not gonna become rich of this. Why? Some of these people keep on commissioning others for art, too. Don't get high on your supply and waste money on the same things you sell to others. As capitalist and greedy as I will sound, look at Steve Jobs. He said he isn't getting his kids an iPad. It will numb their brains and also, it's unnecessary spending. Many people live without iPads and they're still alive and even happier. At the end of the day, chances are, those kids are dominating most us financially. Sell them the good shit then take it from there because it is on them if they waste their money on it - don't spend money on the kind of shit your good shit is, and be the one who gains the upper hand by saving the money instead for your NEEDS and some of your WANTS.
Lastly, while the Renaissance was a time where arts, philosophy, science, and new ideals were booming, the notable examples we got like da Vinci and Michaelangelo are a minority that got recognized. The many others out there who went undocumented because they couldn't secure a patron definitely died hungry and with syphillis. The Renaissance artists who got acclaimed even as the centuries have passed are known for working hard and making their mark in their craft. These idiots making tweets like these will only be recognized for those rants and tweets, not their art. Hell, everyone will forget these tweets in like 10 minutes or so. Do not use this agenda for attention > likes > commission. Just say you opened commissions, put your prices, samples, what you are sure you can draw, and that you are available for negotiation and DMs. In fact, don't put any agenda on your art if you want it to be profitable with zero controversy.

At one point she criticises an AI generated image for having flowers on the chest of the dress saying that no human would ever do that. But like look at yourself lol. Most people would say that no normal adult would dress like you. And also ignore the massive history of people doing exactly that. What these people pointing out "it's the shitty anatomy so it's AI" are missing is that anime and cartoons have certain exaggerations and emphasis on certain features to make a character look appealing, endearing, cute, and interesting to the audience. It's stylization to keep it interesting and not uncanny valley. However, in my opinion, more heavily-stylized art is harder to copy with AI than less stylized art like anime art and realistic art.

For reference too all the AI image detectors that people love to point to as a definitive expert give a 99% not AI generated result.
I tried to make my own version of that image with AI just to see if I could. And honestly now I look at the original more and more I just wonder what the fuck this person was on about. I mean have you ever seen AI art with that style before? Most AI stuff I see are no offense to the orignial artist a bit more polished than that. Literally every single model I've tried in the past year has given results that are at least in the style and quality of an actual anime. I mean most AI stuff has a pretty similar style that looks nothing like that image.
See what I mean. Just doesn't look anything like the image that is meant to be AI.

I'd say it's possible to get AI to generate something like the original image, but you'd really have to put in a lot of effort to do so between experimenting with models and almost certainly training a very specific style LoRA to utilize for your generations. I'd think that even if you went to such efforts and training the end result might be a much more stylistically similar image to the original but will still trigger that gut feeling that pops up whenever someone with more than two braincells looks at something that's AI generated and immediately recognizes it as such.
