The problem is now that Hurst and Kenneth fires are under control somewhat it comes when the wind is changing to benefit the Pallisades fire and Eaton fire. I feel they are not factoring in that when the winds pick up they cannot fly effectively. It's just a massive waste. The Pallisades and Eaton fire are in a position too where they can converage all be it after days but this force is very inept and is relliant entirely on outside help now.

I was actually thinking about this in relation to Katrina, the most prominent absolute failure to respond to a natural disaster I'd ever seen. Before this, I'd considered Dubya's response, and shit like "heck of a job, Brownie!" the dumbest, most useless disaster response I'd ever seen.

This takes the cake by far, though. While you can see things in the leadup to Katrina that were incompetent and didn't help, the shit California's government did before the disaster almost reeks of actual malice and hatred of the population of the state. Already having slashed the budgets of the very responders needed most in a situation like this, that crazy bitch LA mayor was demanding even more be slashed literally days before the actual fires.

You can't really blame Louisiana for having hurricanes, nor California for having a climate that has traditionally been prone to wildfires. But short of actually deliberately piling up tinder and pouring on gasoline and chucking a Zippo on it, it's hard to imagine more deliberately actually CAUSING a catastrophe.

Then to compound it, even the before-the-fact incompetence was followed by the most inept, pathetic, and again almost willfully malicious failure to respond to the situation in any rational manner.

People say "oh you can't blame Democrats for this." Bullshit. I do. This was their job and they did the exact opposite of their job. I mean maybe "not all Democrats" or whatever, but DEFINITELY the abjectly incompetent one-party California ruling class who have installed themselves for life.

Absolutely FUCK these clowns. It is long past due for them to answer for their fucking crimes. But it probably isn't happening any time soon regardless. If you did this shit even in commie China you'd be having your organs harvested.

The fire is either backing, meaning burning but just from the heat radiation against the wind towards the fire front, or the local terrain is causing the wind at ground level to shift in a direction other than the prevailing wind.

CALFIRE has some pretty good info online about their fleet. I'm not an aircraft autist but watching those bad boys makes me feel like I could be.
