I think the girl in Video 2 has an autism medallion of her own, which is enough to put her character to doubt around these parts of the Internet but I like her explanation of why queerbaiting could actually be a marketing strategy for the show. It's rational enough and makes sense, for a change. I'd like to hear more from actual sane people (aka not tumblr) who watched the entire show about whether this is the case or not.

Even if is though, it doesn't invalidate this thread at all. The salt of they raped my headcanon is too good and entitled not to belong here either way, not to mention childish and autistic.

It's the huge gaps between series. They only make 3 episodes of 90 minutes each for each series and the one off Victorian Special they did. This gives them months, if not years to get all worked up and crazy while picking apart every tweet, photos, episode and interview. I'm sure future employers will appreciate this level of dedication and input.

If I were the showrunners, I'd pull a really dick move and "leak" information about the secret 4th episode being available online. It would send these rabid lunatics on a wild goose chase for weeks.

Then when they start to give up, i'd hint that the episode got pirated on YouTube. Once the fans find it, it'll just be a short video of the actors juuuuuuust about to kiss.....and then it cuts to black like the end of The Sopranos.

I'm sorry in advance if I'm stepping waaay out of line with this long-ass post of mine, but first off - they had to make a tumblr support group account cos their ship didn't become canon? How pathetic is that - it's just a damn TV show. To be fair, I don't know when the account is created, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Nonetheless, I am cackling.

I'm a quiet tumblr reblogger and huge Sherlock/Molly shipper, but I have witnessed some of these extreme TJLCers attack our ship - they try so hard to invalidate and shoot down our ship, and most recently call us homophobic and heteronormative (whatever that means) cos we don't see John and Sherlock as a couple. Why do these TJLCers feel so entitled over a TV show in the first place? Saying it's supposed to represent them, like what gave them that idea? Like, this show isn't the first show/movie to have two male leads. To most of them, Benedict and Martin are attractive (I personally find them attractive as well), so I think that is the main reason why they're shipping them so vicariously - two attractive men, like who wouldn't want them together (or maybe secretly they want to be between them, who knows). I wonder if they'd ship them together anyway if they're not considered attractive. Oh well, maybe yes cos of Rule #34.

Also, the way some of these TJLCers call themselves bi/pan/asexual/queer/whatever their gender/sexual orientation is, and have to make these terms known in their posts on why TJLC should have happened, like they have this pressing need to let you know they're 'different', thus why they're into TJLC; this insistence has dulled me to the point that I don't care who you love/don't love in real life - if you're a dick to people cos of their ships, you're an asshole, period, no matter what you are. I am sure there are plenty of more overt LGBTQ+ characters in other shows that would be better representation for your community, but BBC Sherlock is a show about two men solving crimes, with one of them saying he's 'married to his work' and the other literally saying he's not gay. On the same damn show. TWICE. You can be whoever you want, ship whatever you want, but if a show isn't focussing on issues like sexual orientation, don't be deluded and insist that it is and that it's supposed to represent you, then get into a stupid childish tantrum when it doesn't go your way - to paraphrase ACD's Sherlock Holmes himself, you're twisting facts to suit theories instead of theories to suit facts.

BBC Sherlock isn't representing shit, but these loud TJLCers ARE representing the Sherlock fandom, and they're honestly giving us an embarrassing name by having this 'meltdown' over the last episode just cos Johnlock didn't happen/there was no The Kiss. Like seriously, fuckin' hell, that collective deluded insistence on a secret episode? Also, they (the nobodies in this world of Fame) have the gall to harrass real-life people over a damn TV show (last time to Amanda about Mary, to Arwel about the elephant thing, and now to Mofftiss, to name a few examples). Why am I in the fandom again? (Nah, I'm here for my Sherlock/Molly moments. I don't give a shit that they're not canon, cos that's what fanon is for, but TJLCers don't seem to want to let things stay in fanon).

It's entirely possible. I mean, if I were running a TV show that had this kind of rabid fanbase that ate every little scrap I threw them like it was their last meal, I'd exploit the fuck out of it, too. Easy money.

It always cracked me up how the showrunners would always blatantly say it wasn't going to happen, but often in such a way that the fangirls would read it as a joke, or like they were covering something up. In the fangirls' defense, there were a few times where they deliberately misled people, but this would be a pretty big thing to be all nudge-nudge-wink-wink about.

Rebekah is (apparently a lesbian) and also a Johnlock shipper who writes YouTube analysis videos longer than the episodes themselves. She's a lot more deluded about her beliefs and basically thinks the writers are stringing together a great epic gay love story.

Shes made videos about how coffee represents heterosexuality and tea represents homosexuality in the series subtexually. (21 minutes long) Theirs also the hilarious video where she has the simple job of trying to convince her audience that John is bisexual (something they want to believe anyway) and in the video she just brazenly asserts John has had sex with his superior officer who attended his wedding for no reason. (27 minutes long). And her latest recap of their relationship is over one hour and 47 minutes long.

I kinda got bored of calculating each playlist because some playlists contain duplicate videos, but she has produced at least 58 hours of sperging about every minor detail about this gay television show that is not even gay. I'm episodes behind, but apparently something has happened that has finally broken her resolve. It's actually kinda sad?

Her videos are amazing if you need something to listen to on a drive it feels like your actual brain is melting. There is a video where she says John and Sherlock relationship is the elephant in the room than scrutinizes very single time in the series elephants are either in the background or brought up.

And to think, she could have written a short story that actually meant something with that time.

Here's the thing that kills me about this fandom. To them representation is everything, having happy gay love stories means the world to them. Sherlock is a public domain character. WRITE YOUR OWN STORY WHERE THEY'RE GAY IF IT MEANS THAT MUCH TO YOU!

There are people having mental breakdowns on Tumblr threatening to hurt themselves because they feel a television show doesn't love them anymore, when they could just fill the shelves with their own Johnlocky novels. Fuck, they could be legally publishing the fan fictions they've already written. BCC Sherlock is basically just a modern AU itself!
