Not in something as mainstream and colorful as this, especially not nowadays. The only anime I know of where the MC is raped is Berserk, when a fag raped him, which is extra crazy since he was a kid when it happened too.

I'm fairly positive Full Metal Panic counts as well. Gauron is clearly a pedophile who molested Sousuke, and the implication is very strong he still wants to keep raping him now that Sousuke is like 16/17. There is also a weird manga/anime called "Shoukoku no Altair" which is about a country which is clearly just the Ottoman Empire and the main character is a bishounen/trap from a small village who was recruited by an elderly not!Turkish general and occasionally crossdresses and this seems to me a reference to bacha bazi that the writer (a fujo) intended for us to pick up on.

Yeah, not that there were really any particularly sexualized characters there anyway. One could argue the manga did, but not really the anime.

Nintendo let some wild shit happen with manga, really. Even Mario had some relatively risque elements.

I remember hearing stories about the Mario manga though I never saw it lol. I vaguely remember the Pokemon manga as a kid, though I couldn't wrap my head around reading backwards back then.

I'd also add Redo of Healer, where one of the many fucked up things that leads to main character's revenge story is being left alone with Bullet, the gun hero who is a gay pedo rapist priest and becomes unhealthily fixated on MC (he keeps kidnap/rape/killing young boys who look like MC)

That's the one real problem I have with Berserk (besides the creator being dead). Not what happens to Guts, but what keeps happening to Casca. I don't think it's unrealistic for a lot of dudes in a manga called Berserk to get rapey. But... the sheer amount of times it almost/does happen to Casca is fucking crazy. It's weirdly disproportionate. Wyald alone made me believe that in addition to his crippling Idolmaster obsession, Miura had other Comiket-tier vices.

If Guts was almost/actually raped 8 separate times during the series, people would be calling it out for taking the piss...

Well the first episode of the sequel to Maho Precure aired today and it's already looking better than the sequel to Yes Precure 5 that came out last year. A couple of very good signs were the fact that they actually made new original stock footage instead of just reusing old stock footage, we actually got a brand new transformation sequence and slightly altered outfits. Another good thing is that because in the original series the girls grew slightly older when they transformed, there's nothing wrong with them staying adults now when they transformed. That was one of the most disappointing things about the Yes5 sequel, them deaging when they transformed. The episode also just had some really nice animation and a pretty good fight for episode 1. Maho was never the best animated season, nor did it have great fights, so this is really nice to see. There was a lot of budget put into certain parts of this episode.

Also since it looks like this is going to exclusively focus on the Maho cast instead of focusing on three different teams like the Yes5 sequel ended up doing, it should let the story be better paced and focused. Lastly the story is a direct continuation of the first series, it's not just a totally random plot like the Yes5 sequel. I still enjoyed the Yes5 sequel as fanservice but it had a lot of issues and it looks like Mirai Days is trying to fix a lot of them. Very excited for what's coming next.

Kisaki Kyouiku kara Nigetai Watashi: Starts out boring until the wedding is called off and then it seems like it could be fun. Like the MC.
Zenshuu: The premise feels generic. Might give it a chance.
Sorairo Utility: Best OP of the season.

I think people just say cruel angels thesis cause it became a meme, it transcended weebdom to some extent unlike other ops. I still like it but I think its probably the last iconic opening theme or the most recognisable among the last generation of iconic openings.

Jesus Christ this is the loudest anime I've ever seen. I have my volume down and it still feels like GoHands wants to blow my eardrums out. This is on top of the visuals being way too busy for its own good. I'm really getting tired of anime wanting to show off (supposed) detailed animation for a particular style (in this case, I guess it wants to look like a video game?) because they finally got their computers upgraded, but in doing so it doesn't remain consistent throughout the entire episode because they split cuts between multiple groups of art directors. It's by the Mardock Scramble and Coppelion people, and yet I'm just not feeling the same energy, and that's not because it also wants to be a cooking show for like two minutes at a time.

Also fuck lens flares and filters. It's nothing new to anime for the last decade or so, but it's literally everywhere here and it just looks icky.

I'm guessing it's because the Bocchi-lite girl has a weapon that's pretty much flying the tranny colors but she's 100% female and no one is lesbians with each other, on top of a chick having big boobs that flop around everywhere to rub it in their faces they'll never be a real woman. Meanwhile, fujoshis are just mad there's no guys for them to ship, which always happens every time there's a show that has an all-female cast. Also the show wants to be like Madoka Magica super bad but it shot its load way too early and so therefore doesn't have the same impact. It's so much more like Coppelion, if any of y'all remember that show, except Coppelion was a lot more interesting and due to how atmospheric it got, it didn't bombard you with so much shit right out of the gate.

This show is literally nothing special.
