Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

I don't think many people realize the scale of the damage here. This is easily going into millions of lives affected once you go into family members that now have to take care of their own that lost everything and quite possibly may have absolutely zero way to recover. This is hurting a lot of people. Not just the immediate victims of the fire. And long term, this is going to be a anchor around the entire country. We literally have to rebuild LA. Make no mistake, the feds, so you and me, are paying for that. We all are going to suffer here.
The land owners will be fine. Even if they get scammed, they're going to get a couple hundred thousand for their burned out lots. That's 4 years salary for the average American. If the Hawaiians and North Carolinians can rebuild their lives with basically nothing, Los Angeles will do just fine with hundreds of thousands in liquidity and the federal government promising to pick up the check.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom launched a website Saturday aimed at addressing the online spread of wildfire-related misinformation and disinformation, according to a news release.

The site, CaliforniaFireFacts.com, serves to combat false information spread on the internet and “and by political leaders around the Southern California wildfires,” the release states.

“There is an astonishing amount of mis- and dis-information being spread online – much of it by so-called leaders and partisan media outlets who seek to divide this country for their own political gain. It breaks my heart that families in Los Angeles don’t just have to worry about the fires but also this malicious disinformation as well,” Newsom said in the release.

Here is an archive of the site.

The site also includes a "Donate To The Cal Fire Foundation" button which is done through ActBlue, an American Democratic Party political action committee (PAC) and fundraising platform that is known to take a 3.95% processing fee on contributions to the groups using their service.

>It's not that I failed you, it's that you're wrong and racist
t. Gavin Newsom
This guy must have balls of steel.

God damn those are some thirsty, low-standards losers. If that's all it takes to turn their cranks, they really need to get out more.

Ah, and just like that another large group of citizens gets another reminder that their government not only doesn't give a shit about them, but doesn't even want to pretend to give a shit anymore.

Close up image of damaged superscooper. FBI has recovered the remants of the drone to try to figure out who was operating it.
Enjoy club fed stalker drone pilot child

Los Angelinos are so fucking retarded. They are akin to an animal with no preservation instinct, like the dodo.

It's time we let nature take its course.

This is them trying to set up the chief to take the fall. Turns out a Black Mayor outranks a White Lesbian Fire Chief in the oppression stack.
Different 'Chief'. This one is the LA county water chief, who's in charge of the water infrastructure. When the lesbian fire chief said the city failed the department, she was more or less pointing directly at 'Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP) CEO' Janisse Quiñones. She got signed on to a sweet $750,000 salary in May, when the reservoir was already offline for some time. This fire response was a like a onion of failure, with each layer of shite revealing another.

Nobody is really saying the obvious outloud on-air, California's biggest failing was appointing fucking retards to run the system, allowing glaring faults and inefficiencies to pile without being addressed. Leaving a critical reservoir offline for over a year is only one of the big ones here.

The lesbian fire chief is arguably the most professional out of the bunch.

They put more time and effort into setting up this debooking site then anything they've done for their city

Getting a real uncomfortable feeling about survivorship bias regarding the folks here from LA who have admitted they survived and all their property is safe.

There is absolutely no way everyone escaped and we'll never know if our favourite shitposter got caught up, they just won't post again.
Who's going to play the role of lolcows tracker who finds everyone who is known to live in California and check if they're still active somewhere?

Bass told them no. Someone from NYC posted about a 5 alarm fire that 40 trucks responded to yesterday. But that's not why, she didn't give a reason. My bet is they probably know that the NY fire department would probably go insane having to deal with identity politics while putting out a fire. Meanwhile Canada is probably fine with that and the Mexican won't understand a single word.
The only thing a typical 5 alarm does for FDNY is MAYBE cancel some lunch breaks. It would have no impact on sending crews to Cali. To start straining FDNY you need something like that airliner that came down in a queens neighborhood.
