I think it's that and the expectations of these measures being implemented as actual policy are basically zero. There's no chance to recoup the costs incurred on these programs because there's no way they can deliver some kind of return.

As well as no possibility they can generate an internal/intangible profit through improving operations or recruiting high-quality employees. If anything these companies have noticed the opposite, they are demoralizing to workers and result in higher turnover.

Being forced to go back to the office 5 days a week sucks, let's be honest, but combine that with mandatory in-person DEI trainings and you've got a recipe for mass exodus. When people were remote it was easier to grin and bear the DEI crap.

The way I see it, the government policies and tax incentives for this kind of crap haven't gone away so this might happen. Regardless of that, I just think a lot of normal people are tired of the anti-woke as they were with the trans everywhere.
