I think the knock on him is that he wasn't running the website. He handed it over to some complete zilches who have slowly destroyed it over the past decade. He chose making Let's Play videos with Shmorky over his only source of income. In 5 years he'll have to get a McJob or something to support his kids due to his laziness and incompetence over the last decade.

There have been 117 new accounts registered in 2017 so far so atleast $1170. Some are perma'd already (probably the yt guy and dare? I think he still makes new accounts), most have zero posts. Dare does a chargeback on his as soon as he creates the account so he's proably a little shorter than that, and it doesn't count any of the other stuff we were talking about (reregs, avatars, upgrades.)

During the same period in 2006 there were 956 new registrations. Now obviously a lot of people who wanted/want accounts may have them already so there'd be a lot less registrations but it seems like a safe assumption lowtax thought the money was just always going to print itself. And arguably 2006 was after it had already peaked.
