That's something that's always bothered me about the wokest-of-the-woke crowd. Neopronouns, especially ones that aren't easily switchable in your head to normal pronouns, are incredibly fucking difficult to read. If I struggle with it and I'm a good reader, what about someone who struggles to read at a high school level or below? Your whole movement is inaccessible to the disabled. How can you claim to be the most progressive and care for the most vulnerable if even this is impassable for anyone below a certain level of ability???

I honestly don't think she does. She has little to no conception of how other people live. For someone who's terminally online, that's kind of weird. She obviously has no real-life friends and only hangs out with people at a senior center, but it's still weird that she hasn't been able to glean that she's living an odd life. I remember when she announced that she was getting an apartment in a somewhat special-needs complex and was getting a supported decision-maker (what happened with that, anyway?) like it was just an everyday occurrence, instead of something that would be really weird to hear from someone relatively young. She mentions attending events with the senior citizen's group with the same nonchalance.

Likewise, I wonder if it really even occurs to her that there might be a better way to care for a cat than the way she's always cared ("cared" in scare quotes, obviously) for a cat. She's got no initiative to do research of her own, but, again, catcentric spaces are chock-full of discussions about wet vs dry food and so on. It's like that sort of thing just washes over her (unlike soap and water), and she doesn't absorb any of it.

It's one of the strangest things about her, at least to me. She has no idea how odd she actually is because it literally never even registers.

Staph doesn't see how abnormal she is compared to other people because the only person that exists for her is herself. Which seems odd when combined with the characteristic NPD burning compulsion to get attention by any means possible, but again, narcissists live in a completely different reality with completely different rules. Only narcissists understand how narcissists think.

i have mixed feelings about thinking she has NPD/BPD, but i do think a lot of her oddness and self-centeredness comes from being autistic and living a sheltered life being coddled by ancient parents. i know we get a lot of spergs coming in here going "i'm a sperg/have sperg friends, we/they aren't selfish spaz narcs like staph, so she doesn't have autism! i think her parents being old and her only form of social interaction makes her weird too. they're why she's a trans boomer. regarding siggy's diet, she only knows that her parents fed peetie dry cat food and too many treats, so that's the only way a cat is taken care of as far as she's concerned. it's why she sleeps in a single bed with grandma sheets, because her parents bought them. and it's why she hangs out at senior centers. old people are the only people she can consider peers. additionally, little old ladies are more likely to listen to her rambling and say "that's nice dear" as opposed to people her age saying outright to her face that she's crazy. she grew up with her parents saying "that's nice dear" as well, but their patience with her is definitely growing thin these days, unlike yarrow's waistline.

Regarding the legality, you'd be amazed how many people are on some flavor of disability, benefits, low-income housing, etc and actually have a lot of support outside of that.

It sounds like bullshit (and in plenty of cases it can be), but I feel like in cases like this it sadly makes some degree of sense. In this case, you have Stapphy's parents: not scraping to get by but not exactly loaded. They're both old and probably retired, they have a lot of medical issues between them, and (through no fault of their own) they decided to take in a child and got a defective product. So now, instead of a child who will be able to stand on her own two feet and help them in their old age, they're stuck with a useless retard who they're still having to support in her mid thirties. They're not going to let her starve; should they have tried harder to instill some discipline in her, sure, but times are tough and I don't think anyone would begrudge them being given an avenue to have the government shoulder some of the load to keep their squalling child afloat.

If they're smart and have enough money, they should have set up a trust or have estate planning that puts any inheritance for her in trust so that it doesn't nuke her benefits, because she's screwed if she has to actually learn to live off her tugboat alone when they're gone.

A lot of people put trusts together to protect benefits. Kinda comes in two(ish) categories:

- Old people. Old people, even with a fairly significant amount of money, should have a trust to protect their assets and so they can eventually apply for Medicaid. The reason for this is that nursing home costs are obscene. The average cost of nursing home care in America is $10,000 a month per person. Imagine that, consider how long a person may very well live between 'I need day to day help because I'm old and frail but otherwise quite healthy' and death, and then realize how even a VERY significant amount in the bank can disappear very quickly. A trust lets older people who have worked hard and paid their taxes all their lives get below the asset limit so the government will help take care of them rather than draining them dry and making their last days full of stress and worry.
(Personal caveat: if you have >15mil in the bank and apply for Medicaid you can go fuck yourself)

- the honest-to-god disabled. Let's say you are driving home one day and you get hit by a freight truck because some asshole company didn't do maintenance on their vehicle's brakes. You break your back and are left in a wheelchair with crippling pain and PTSD. You're probably never working again. The company pays you a million dollars. However, your medical bills will chew through that in a decade or two and you are still going to probably live a long, if difficult, life. Your benefits say you can't have more than 2k in the bank at any given time. That's also what a trust is for, so you can preserve as much of that money as possible and keep coasting as much as you can because it needs to last for a lifetime.

- tard children like Stapphy. Parents with the means and foresight, knowing that their tard will outlive them, can put money in trust for when they're gone so that a trusted person managing it can help providing for the tard as needed or in case of the tard doing something fucking stupid and losing their benefits until the situation can be unfucked (extremely common).

Optimistic because nothing ever happens, but you're right that it'd be interesting if it did. We only know through Stephanie that these people are "junkies" and "squatters," so it's hard to guess at their mental capacity.

They could be blaming the unseen landlord/management for the eviction and be working on new housing, or they could realize the neighbors were reporting noise and extra occupants and be ready to blow up at someone leaving cat poop on their step. At least the gendies pushing for they/them to refer to a single, known person (as opposed to its typical use for multiple people or someone unknown or unspecified) are consistent. Dying to know what this new project of hers is going to be about. It's already been observed that she doesn't seem to read anything that's actually decently written and isn't fuel for her ego and sexual fantasies so I'm not expecting any better this time around. We saw the photo of her bookshelf - IIRC she didn't even have the spines of her book collection facing out and that to me says she's got terrible taste and doesn't want anyone to know.
