I completely lost my passion for movies recently and watched zero films last year, but I understand what Adam is saying. If you rely exclusively on capeshit slop you will think every year is the worst year in cinema's history. But where are all these good indie films after all?

In his profile on Imdb I can only see a barrage of 5 and 6-star films, some even worse. Where are all those masterpieces, Adam? The Golden Globe went for a film about a cartel warlord who wants to chop his cock off. No, serious . Awful score for an art-house film as well.

So I just don't understand his arguments. I think we can all agree this year was a disaster for cinema, even if you find a bunch of good smaller films out there we still can't deny it was a weak as fuck year for movies.

On the other hand, and hear me out... he could just NOT do current-year films and stick to films from the past that didn't suck.

It's not like he hasn't done that before. His OldBoy video was pretty good, and there's those videos where he rips on M. Night Shyamalan like it's his white whale.

He really does have an almost evergreen source of content if he went back to doing his 'top 10 films of...' for older years like he's done in the past. Feels like he hasn't done one of them in a while, but I suppose doing that kind of work would mean having to leave the leper colony and put some effort in. The most recent one I can find with a quick search is for 2015, which he released in 2018.

He claims he has to wait a few years to see most the films released in a year or some shit because he goes out of his way to watch non-English films before making his lists.

I personally don’t think he actually enjoys most of the international films he claims he does. He just wants to give off the impression he’s an actual film critic.

This really highlights the difference between retard YouTubers and actual film critics. Real critics didn't have to spend the better part of a decade 'catching up' because they took their jobs seriously and actually saw every movie as it was released, either in theatres or at festivals or critics' screenings. Doing a year-end 'best of' was trivial because they could look back over their year and pick out their favourites.

YMS is just a drug-addled sex pest who sits on his arse and watches movies every now and then.

I have some hope in Adam considering he did seem rather incredulous about the idea and wasn't the one who pushed the conversation forward. If anything he seemed like he wanted to be talking about anything else. His okays were quite funny.

He said it before, but he rates movies without watching all of, mostly stuff he gives 5 to, so he has watched far less than you would think going off his imdb.
